Anyone else there for the man who got up and started to yell: "I'm intolerant of what you say Jerry....you teach us to stand up for what we're intolerant so you should be proud of me Jerry!!!!"
The man also had another guy with him video taping him doing this...he was dressed as if he was a preacher himself...I was about 50 feet from him when he was doing this....JF didnt skip a beat though only got louder to dround out the man yelling
My fav was when JF was talking about it after the cameras went off....
"What was that preacher back there saying? I dont mind him preaching, but I was already doing it...we gotta take turns and do it one at a time!"
"Dr. Lakin (sp?) always said, this is my crowd....go find your own"
for the record I was ready to make a move...but Chief Smith was there within minutes, and let's be honest who would rather have me take action over Chief Smith...I know he was taken off property and the tape from the camera was taken as well...I just wonder if he was arrested or not...doubt it
according to SJ it's already messed up...(And I cant disagree to much!) were you there yesterday or do you only grace TRBC with your presence when theres a BB game the nite before?
Are they allowed to take his tape???? I would think that to be illegal. The only way I could see them doing that is if they threatened to charge him with something unless he 'voluntarially' gave up the tape.
Being on TV...I wonder if there is a "expressed written consent" or something like that...I dunno how it works...if I dont want you to videotape on my property I can keep you from doing it...who knows
Yeah... you're right... since it's a TV show... that may be the case... Apart from that I'd figure the church is a "public" place and would be protected grounds for someone taking video during a normal service..... no tickets to get in and it's open to the public... but I think you've got a point with the TV show portion.... I'm certain they wouldn't allow you to film from the audience of any other tv show.... nor in concerts...etc.
Actually, there is an implied consent with churches making it public access unless stated otherwise. My guess is they "voluntarily" gave up the tape in exchange for not being arrested for a disorderly conduct (or somethign similar) charge. Frankly, who cares if these knuckleheads keep the tape unless they plan on selling it. It doesn't sound like they did anything very impressive.
And you did spell Lakin properly, HMO. But I diagree with JF that B.R. would've limited his comments to just that one liner. B.R. was one of the most tremendous public speakers I've ever seen with an amazingly quick wit. He would've had those two guys embarassed and wishing they would've picked anywhere else to try that stunt.
B.R. Lakin had a way with the crowds, the first five minutes of his sermons, he would tell jokes and have the crowd in his hands. I agree, he would have shamed those idiots yesterday.
Yeah...and B.R. never really lost that touch....now if you would have done that to JF 15 years ago...I'm sorry for what happens...it more or less would have been what would happen if someone would do that to Caner now
