Liberty takes care of business against Delaware, 76–62 and keeps this thing rolling to 13 straight wins and a perfect 11–0 in conference play. Delaware will be competitive early because they’re well-coached and don’t make a lot of mistakes, but Liberty’s depth of 7 plus Ihnen, LU physicality w/small white guards, and defensive intensity eventually take over. The Flames force tough shots, control the glass when it matters, and when they push the pace, the separation shows. We’ll get balanced scoring, strong interior play from our sub 6' guards, and timely threes—especially when we stop overthinking and just take the good looks. The second half is where Liberty pulls away. A couple defensive stops turn into transition buckets, the crowd gets less involved, and what felt like a tight game turn into a comfortable finish. Delaware just doesn’t have the horses to keep up for a full 40 minutes.
Final score: Liberty 79, Delaware 62.
That’s 13 straight wins and 11–0 in conference play—right where this team wants to be.
And one more thing from this LU Armchair Coach: I still don’t see the resemblance between @ASORVinesPom and @JCManson that came up on the YouTube podcast about them looking like LU’s players hopping off the jet. I’ve squinted; I’ve tried—still not seeing it. Maybe that one’s just not for me.
On to the next one.
