Winning in women’s basketball is flat-out easier than men’s basketball. Period. Comparing the two is like saying HCJC and HCRM are the same thing. They aren’t. Never have been. Never will be.
And for the “recruiting experts” in the comments, let me help you out. This LU armchair coach actually knows how this works. About 90% of recruiting is assistants filtering, vetting, and deciding who’s worth the head coach’s time. In my recruitment, the head coach was the only contact — no assistants, no middlemen. Different world.
So yes, assistants largely control who gets recruited. If that offends anyone, that’s fine. I’d be shocked if most head coaches weren’t letting assistants do the dirty work while they step in at the end. Facts don’t care about feelings.
