If Blair wasn't on the roster, it's an absolutely inexcusable error by the Liberty staff. The fault is entirely on Liberty, and I'm sure the conference is within the letter of the law to punish them accordingly. As a fan, my disappointment is entirely with my own team.

Even still, Bieser handled that with as little sportsmanship as possible, and I can understand why LeCroy was angry. It's not like this was the 7th inning and the player in question had produced an impact on the game. He was clearly aware of the issue ahead of time and was deliberate in waiting until one single pitch had been thrown so he could push for forfeiture.

Amongst other alternatives, even pointing out the issue when Blair was finishing warm-ups would have had a heavily detrimental impact on Liberty while still allowing the players to compete and fans to attend the game they paid for. This wasn't a do-or-die elimination game, a postseason game, or anything high stakes. I think it can be within the letter of the law and still just be absolutely lame.
I’d wait till the first pitch too. Gives LU a chance to figure it out. It’s not Jax job to get LU’s roster right. Shrewd move to pick up an easy W

What would Coach Dot have done? Same thing JAX State did  . Rules are rules.

I don't think coach LeCroy was questioning the ruling when the, almost altercation occurred. It happened in game three in the 1st or 2nd inning. Score was 1-0 Jax. Jax had a runner on 2nd and the runner had words with our 2nd baseman and short stop. One thing led to other. Both coaches came out. Both coaches were just backing their guy. Got pretty heated. Had to physically keep the coaches apart. Just baseball being baseball if you ask me

If JSU staff noticed LU’s error in time for something to be done, they could’ve said something before it was an issue. They could’ve also said nothing and quietly let them know postgame. The JSU staff could’ve made an ally for life.

I don’t want to “win” a game that way. That’s small.

What if one game separates the two teams late in the season, and the outcome of this one impacts seeding?
Then I would say that’s a huge win for the JSU staff to take advantage of the LU staffs stupidity to help them get a better seed for the tournament.

I don’t feel like it’s small or dirty because it’s so obvious and within the rules. It’s pure laziness or oversight or stupidity or whatever you want to call it on the part of this staff and they should suffer the consequences of the mistake.
I would hope and expect the LU staff would try to get an easy win out of this too if the situation was reversed.

Now if this was some type of little league (I understand they don’t turn in rosters but just for the sake of argument) then by all means let the kids play. Winning and losing isnt as important. This is division one baseball. There is winning and losing and that’s it.
There is winning and losing, and that’s it. You’re 100% right.

And I want to win on the field. Not on some cheap technicality that amounts to improper paperwork.

We all know there are weasels in sports. I don’t want LU to be one. Clearly JSU doesn’t care.

Well, we have very different opinions on how this should have been handled. And that’s okay. I’m perfectly fine with how JSU handled it. I get your side…just don’t agree.

What I’m not fine with is that the JSU staff has a better grasp on the Liberty roster than Libertys staff does.

I wish they could have played the game too. Maybe we come out with a series win but unfortunately incompetence didn’t let that happen.

I wonder who prepares roster, the head coach, assistant coach or someone on support staff. Hard to believe the starting pitcher was left off.
I thought rosters were pre-printed on lineup cards.

Indeed, and I see the argument on both sides. Still, the fault is ultimately on Liberty, and it's another straw on the pile of a frustrating start to conference play.

Plenty of baseball left to be played. The team has had some bright moments.. hopefully they can migrate some of those from midweek to the weekend.

Obviously, the frustration is warranted. However, this team is still achieving beyond expectations this season. On the field, we're just seeing the normal ups and downs and inconsistencies of a younger team hastily put together.

I’ve been very pleasantly surprised by the team this year with the exception of the 2 conference series and we’ve already talked about one of those conference losses enough.

It appears we’ll pick up the sweep this weekend. It’s a good answer. Hopefully we can take this series from WKU.

It’s great to pick up the sweep on MTSU as they are one of if not the worst team in the conference. It’s what we needed to do to get back on track.

It would be a huge boost for this team if we could take a series from WKU. No mid week, so perhaps Mathieson is able to go longer. I’m liking Potts in the starting role.

Respectfully, I’d like to see Robertson get a break. Throw Scilley in center and give John Simmons a real chance at 3B. He had an above 900 OPS last year - you need help in this lineup. I know Robertson offers defense, and that’s good, but we can’t afford to give up that spot in the lineup. No offense intended to Michael.

If we’re going to have much chance of an at large bid, tonight is important. Keep stacking these ACC wins and it’ll matter, I hope. We’ve really struggled in CUSA play. I’d hope for at least 3-1 this week if we’re gonna vie for that bid.

Struggling so mightily in conference play really is head scratching when you look at all the ACC wins we’ve had. Hopefully they figure it out.

To be fair we haven’t played any of their weekend starters. When we did against Clemson, we dropped both games but still its always nice to get ACC wins.

Do we use our weekend starters?
Clemson is a different animal all together this year.

Big win for the Flames tonight. Hopefully, this kept our slim at large bid chances alive. Gotta put some wins together though. Probably need to win most of these series left and perhaps a few more midweeks to pad the ACC record. Not over yet.

I know it’s still mid season, but Blair is an LCA guy, right? Chances he returns next year? Having an ace on the mound like him really helps when rebuilding.

Taken to the woodshed by KSU. Embarrassing. Unless we win the conference tournament, (we won't), we don't have a chance for an at -large.
