TJ Bush is expected to stay, right? Right? ;(

Also, any news on the corner position? Thanks for the work, Jon.
TJ Bush is going to enter the portal. I am hearing more players to enter the portal.

I'm sure it's because they hate wearing those sissy blue uniforms.
I would support that. If I was a player, that would certainly be a big factor. :football :football

It’s unfortunate. In terms of NIL, Liberty is probably up there, if not the top of G5 in offering money but it’s hard to match a school when they’re offering a million plus to a player.

There needs to be a salary cap and contracts so none of this bs happens.

Or... Liberty put their money where their mouth is since they've been claiming if "it's Christian, it ought to be better. " A P4 will do what a power school should do in this business and a G5 will get crumbs if anything if they can't afforded their good players. It is what it is; wonder if other top G5 schools are putting out more than the usual G5 since their aspiration is to be a part of the P4 club in the next realignment? Then again, those few already have a history which would help them like some other forner G5 schools who made it in recently.

It very well might be the money that these kids from LU are searching for or it maybe something else. We will never know, but to think it’s just money one may not want to look within!

I've got mixed emotions about the kids leaving for money, which is a significant factor for our better players. Can't fault a kid trying to get some PT, but you also can't fault a kid trying to get paid when you consider most won't get paid to play anywhere after college.

However, this needs to be fixed with 1 portal opening, 1 transfer (again) w/o sitting, & signed contracts for the players. Let's also face it. These kids are employees. They need to be treated as such.

Designed for it or not, EVERYONE knew that's what was going to happen and NCAA allowed it. Really hard to go backwards now.

We’re not going backwards on NIL. But we can regulate it. Union + Collective Bargaining Agreement. Get everything out in the open. It’s been “pro” for awhile now, just with the employees losing all their rights and agreeing with what amounts to indentured servitude.

Let’s finally call it what it is and properly regulate it. Caps. Contracts. Full awareness of market rates. Penalties for tampering. Treat it all like a pro league, because that’s what it is.

The Alabama’s and Ohio States (and Middle Tennessee women’s basketball) have been doing all this for decades under the table. We have a chance now to bring it all out into the light and make it fair. For everyone.

Sounds American to me (at least the part that academia loves to water down and revise about)

The coaches need a portal too. No more engaging in talks with other teams prior to the season ending. No coach should be able to leave their team prior to a bowl game ever again. If your team needs to hire a new coach, then you have to wait until after the National Championship game concludes.

So HCJC doesn’t poach from smaller schools?
Don’t go down that road. Ballcoach isn’t capable of self reflection or logical thought.

I like Jay Bilas idea of going to 3 year guaranteed contracts with buyout clause’s similar to what coaches have. Players can transfer but the player would have to buy out their contract. Or vice versa. It’s a great framework to get this NIL under control

This would force all players to have an agent or Lawyer, and I don't think smaller schools like LU want to deal with this. Looks like the basketball team has a player/coach maybe being called a GM (not sure on correct title) to represent the coach. Is HCJC using this concept also? IMO the schools that some of these LU Armchair coaches says are poaching should pony up the buyout.

Majority of players have agents already and I’m not saying a team offered TJ a million dollars. I agree if Liberty wants to compete with the likes of BYU (Already paying millions for players) they need to step up and offer the money because we all know we have the resources.

Looking at TJ’s X account it seems a lot of Florida and Ohio State coaches are following him. I’m not saying he’s going there.

I’d definitely like to see something like this. It would discourage players from transferring for marginal increases in pay and schools would at least get something for identifying and developing players that eventually get poached by the big boys.

The natural remedy to the bulk of portal movement will be time. Highly sought after, G5 studs will continue getting poached but the fringy players (C. Blair in hoops, Aakil Washington's in football) will be lessened with the bulk data that the grass is not always greener. Also, scorned coaches will not be as apt to re-open the door for athletes to return once they put a foot out the door (as we did with Salter).
This is new territory and the apple still looks ripe. The stat is somewhere in the ballpark of 40% of players in the portal do not even get an offer from another institution! This will become more apparent to athletes by sheer proximity to the reality.
