My bold prediction that it would be Bryson Spell is now in jeopardy. Could coach Jones sign them both?

One thing is certain. There is a great landing spot for a certain number of Liberty players who want more minutes in a place with a (somewhat) similar culture and mission. Waiting for the first Liberty-Cedarville transfer to make it a 2 way pipeline by returning to the mountain after thriving there and becoming a D2 star like Javon Maughmer. Jalen Davis is off to a good start. Led them in scoring with 14ppg this year as a R-FR.

Once again oldflame is the front runner on prospects.

The OVC is a horrible league no doubt, but it also first found Johni Broome, Kenneth Faried, and I would be surprised if the OVC hasn't produced others that could play at LU. Not saying Stephen translate to either of the two but by looking at his highlights he is a different type of athlete LU doesn't have. I guess my question is if we take a chance on a non-athlete and give him 2-3 years why not check on this kid? Looks like his HS is The WEBB School in Bell Buckle TN.

I made a point of mentioning how bad the OVC is to address the fact that we can apparently "afford" Stephen in spite of the fact that his stats last season were a good bit better that Aquino's who we apparently cannot. It's apples and oranges to some extent, but that does not mean he could not bring some things to the table for us.

I don't think from what I am hearing LU is nowhere close to spending $$$$ like the top 5 conferences. The money right now being spent is the outside NIL donors and not revue share $$$$. I would love to know how we stand in CUSA on NIL $$$ spent for players vs the rest of the conference. Has anyone really seen the numbers?

Do we know what appetizer they ordered? It'll tell us a lot about them.

If 2:00 is supper, what time was lunch?
It's lunch.
They've probably been getting the grand tour the last few hours. It takes a while. Lots to see.

Don’t look like LU wants/affords this kid!

Stephen Olowoniyi (@StephenOlowoni3) has set the following visits, his agent Justin Brown tells TPR:

FAU - Sunday Liberty plays them this November
Oregon State - Thursday
Maryland - TBD

How big is this? It seems like really good news to me, but idk for sure. Have we ever had a guy be a 4 star, then transfer here the next year?

These stars are really meaningless. If the kid don’t fit it really doesn’t matter. HCRM has a system if the star can’t fit he will not play. IMO Ihnen would’ve been at the same so called star.

Ihnen was in fact rated a 4 star prospect when he was signed by Minnesota out of the German club system. Jones is obviously younger, and as far as we know, has 2 good knees. Hard to know why things didn't work out for him in Blacksburg. He attended a Christian HS, which I suspect played a role in his interest in Liberty.

A lot of 3s in this highlight video.

I will never complain about having 4* level talent but I’m not getting excited about this one just yet. He was one of the last players off the bench on a bad VT team. Normally I’d expect a 4* to at least work there way into the back end of a rotation on a bad power conference team like this. That leads me to believe he’ll probably be coming off the bench for us, at least initially.

If im wrong (which I usually am) and he steps up in a big way, he’ll be off to get a big payday elsewhere after next season anyway and we’ll be back in the portal looking for his replacement. Consider me cynical until transfer rules change.

With the experienced size we have returning, I think Ryan will do well to earn 10- 12 mpg next year, and that's fine. Anything more would be a bonus (or be a result of injury). Less would not necessarily be a huge fail. His chance to play a bigger role and possibly set himself up for some big $$$ will come in 26-27.

The 4 star rating does not impress me. The 13 offers from high major schools (including 5 SEC and 5 ACC) is way more important. I do realize that it is a bit of a chicken/egg situation, as offers are the single biggest factor in a player's star rating, but I stand by my statement.

Unless I'm mistaken, VT was one of our 2 "secret" scrimmages this year, so that may have planted a seed on one or both sides, especially if it was at our place (which I don't know, cuz it's a secret).
