Camper could be an excellent addition to our team.

Pros:
Tons of experience. 2 years at UTEP and 2 years at Tyler JC under a hall of fame coach.
Led UTEP in minutes paid and 2nd in scoring at 10.5ppg
Elite defender (although in a dramatically different system, which he would need to "unlearn" while learning the packline).
Excellent FT shooter. (78%)

Cons:
Although he shot an "OK" 33% from 3, his 2 point shooting was only 42%, which is not good, and indicates he was not a great finisher despite his height.
Questions on eligibility. Under old rules he would be done, but he clearly fits the Pavio criteria. Does that give him 1 more year or 2?

Eligibility who knows seems like from my sources it’s whoever has the biggest pocketbook.

IMO if kid comes he will be able to adapt to HCRM system on defense.

I really don't understand that choice from him. He's a solid big that plays good defense, but at 6'8" he's not an overwhelming presence down low. He had times where he appeared that he could play a larger role in scoring, but others where he was timid or too quick to defer to a pass. He only avg'd 8 ppg this year, so not sure where he thinks he's going to find a better place than LU. It's unfortunate, but it seems like we have some candidates in the pipeline that could replace his production.

Camper is a logical replacement for Maughmer, who wound up being our best perimeter defender. If he learns the system, he could be even better than Maughmer was. I do worry about his offensive production a little, especially since we're losing so much with Peter leaving. McKay probably thinks he can get quality minutes from Decker and the new kid coming in.

At first glance, Towt jumps off the page to me on Manson't list. It'd be a one & done ... but isn't that basically everyone these days?

He could slide right into the FT culture of 24-25 LU. :)
55-145 .379, including a game where he was 0-9 from the Charity Stripe! Yikes!
Hoping that this year was an anomaly for LU MBB.

Makes Zach Cleveland look like Mark Price.

That occurred to me as well, but while Manson used the term "could pay", we all know that is different than saying "were capable of paying". Ian has probably set guidelines, but I doubt they are set in stone for the right player.

I think Towt's incompetence as a shooter will prevent that from being an issue here.

I don’t believe anyone really knows the exact amount of money any school will be sharing. I can’t believe LU would disclose that amount with anyone. It’s a hard search to see what LU paid Freeze & McKay.

Liberty has set the amount Athletics can “share” with its athletes. The athletic department has divided that up and given each team an annual budget. Coaches can then work within that budget and pay players based on what they think is best.

Let’s say we have money left in the kitty.
Does it stay with that athletic team or going to say baseball?
Can that money be used for paying coaches extra or is it spent solely on the players?
How did universities come up with this amount the board of directors, just AD’s or with coaches also?

Can't imagine any team would be given money and not spend it on the players. For Liberty, it's a number that was approved by the board.

If the payments are flowing through the Athletics Budget then I would expect there would be some reporting provided through the annual disclosures to the EADA. That database lags a year or so behind, so we probably won't know for a couple years.
