That's a very Ritchie thing to do. Said it to about 6 or 7 players within a week of arriving in April of 2015, before the transfer portal existed. They all got the boot, and the roster was a bit depleted the next season, but he fixed that pretty quickly.

If he had that much talent he would have played. HS accolades do not always translate to D1 productivity, particularly in a system that demands so much on the defensive end.

My take on Kaden: it is always great to retain talent and he is a really good player. However, if we lose Decker as a result of squeezing one more year out of a super senior, it wasn’t worth it. Decker might already be a better player and certainly projects to be soon.
I would not blame a kid (Decker) for leaving to chase minutes. Kids want to play!

Looking at next year's roster, IMHO the only way Decker does not get a huge increase in minutes is if Peter is back.
