?? -10 spread ???

If i were a betting man, that seems like the easiest money you could make. UTEP is a bad matchup for us. Long, deep, pressure D and our primary ball handler is on the fritz. I think this one is close throughout but hoping i am wrong.

Hot shooting start for K. M. tonight. keeping us in lead right now. UTEP getting lucky, they have 8 fouls right now, should have 10-12.

sure, if they'd made a few more they might have won, but you could say the same thing about literally any shot all night. FT shooting is still a problem but its not why they lost tonight. I think it was awful officiating. Maybe I'm wrong, but i saw so many whistles swallowed when we were on offense that I'm surprised nobody choked; and i wouldn't say that if they had called fouls the same way on both sides but they let UTEP get away with a lot of contact they were calling our guys for. There were a few missed calls on us too but it definitely seemed one-sided.

Big difference between FT and other shots. FT is exactly what it is, FREE shots with no one contesting and the player can take his time. I don’t expect 100% but they need to be close to 90%. Cleveland continues to be a liability in the last 3 minutes of the game. He lack the athletic ability against more athletic players to keep up on a one on one defense. He is very poor in the FT. I do agree that the referees were not doing a good job with calls. Those referees sucked. For some reason just because UTEP showed good defensive stat, they gave them too many benefit of the doubt.

Near 90% isn’t fair or realistic at all. There are 6 teams in the county at 80% or higher. Five of them are 80 or 81%. Wisconsin is first at 85.41%.
With that being said we are at 65.29% good for 328th in the country. There is obviously plenty of room for improvement. I’m not defending the free throw shooting. I’m just saying let’s have more realistic expectations and hope they can get to the 70-72% range.

Porter’s masterful feed to Decker on the clutch 3 was the only trace of offense witnessed in the final 3 minutes. Hard to win a close game under circumstances like that.

‘Back in the day’ team FT% was ideally mid 70’s and higher.
Cleveland still concerns me. Absolutely tremendous effort and athleticism. Shooting and Basketball IQ…..not so much

Im glad I'm not the only one who saw what I saw with those referees, their calls were bizarre. And I wasn't saying FTs were the same as other shots, they are a glaring weakness on the team, I was just saying that if they had made 1 more shot all night it's a different end result same as if they made a couple more free throws. Cleveland and Aquino need to get around 70% from the line to stop being a liability there. Everyone else on the team that plays should be around 80%-85% average. Just that much improvement and we would have more two more Ws in conference play and probably three or four more by the end of the season.

"Awful officiating? More like a magic show where the refs made their whistles disappear! If they swallowed any more calls, we'd need a Heimlich maneuver on the court."
