This was just posted on Facebook by his wife's aunt
Could you please take a moment and pray for my niece and her husband - Courtney Sanders and Jesse Sanders- they are both LU alumni. Jesse and Courtney along with some of Jesse’s siblings run Deer Creek Adventure Camp.

Last week Jesse was diagnosed with stage 4 cancer. We covet all of your prayers. They just welcomed their sixth child a month ago. Please join me in praying for Jesse’s healing and peace and comfort for the whole family.

I’ve attached their video announcing their diagnosis and also their caring bridge page. They know that God is in control and are trusting him in this journey.

Thank you for your prayers and hug your family!

Jesse is an all time great in the history of the men's basketball team and just an outstanding person.

Horrible news. Can't find a nicer guy - he's LU to the bone. All of Liberty loves this family and will be on their knees in prayer, to include Ritchie McKay and the team. Get well Jesse,

First I've heard of this news and it is shocking. Jesse has had a big impact through the camp since his playing days. We will definitely be adding him to our prayer list.

Just saw Jesse share a video update yesterday on Facebook. Wish there was a way to share it here. He had a PET scan that shows the initial chemotherapy treatments has not slowed down the aggressive nature of the cancer. It has spread from his ureter up to his limp nodes. They are now going to adjust the strategy to do some immunotherapy combined with the chemo to try and build up his immune system while he fights the cancer cells. This is an exceptionally serious battle for him and his young family down here in Texas. He’s still the same Jesse we all remember who was a scrapper who is fighting for his life.
