According to Sunday's Lynchburg paper...
Suspended guard Roli-Ann Nikagbatse, last year's Big South defensive player of the year, didn't travel with the team Saturday and Green said the suspension will last the rest of the season. "We've reached some closure in that matter, he said.

that ought to end all the speculation arising from our recently deleted thread

I truly hope she gets herself straightened out, and the team can move forward.

the whole situation is a real shame.

Smooth, I had a small story in Thursday's paper talking about the suspension. Of course, it got lost in all of the men's hoops news. Carey has elected to keep the reasons for the suspension close to the vest. That's his right. I'm just glad he put a time length on the suspension.

due to the fact that this board is not connected to Liberty...I'm sure someone on here not connected to LU should be able to get on here and post what happened...heck we've talked about all the dirt with our other programs

If someone not connected at LU learns about what happened, they're more than welcome to share it on here. I understand why some can't though.

suffice to say whenever there are potential matters of litigation its better to avoid any comment until the facts are decided.

Botom line: group dynamics are a delicate balance- and a serious betrayal of trust between teammates can, and obviously DID, have a serious effect on a team's performance.

hoping they turn it around, and this young lady gets the help she needs.

I don't think it really matters at this point. It happened, it's done. We have a conference tournament to work for.

If you know information, keep it to yourself. If you can't let us know, don't even tell us you know.

Flat out, as medic said, let's hope that they can move and and she get's the help that she needs, whatever that may be.

I love posts like the one above...

"The Posts to end all posts".

I see them around here on nearly every thread... someone decides that their voice must be heard and they write something about how what they say is definitive and the rest of the board should quit typing because "They" say it's done.

What's the point of a board if nearly every thread gets shut down b/c someone poison's the well for the rest of the nearly 400 members of the board? It seems pretty arrogant for people to say "I spoke, you heard, no more talking."

It's very humorous to me. It doesn't matter the topic... Right now on the MBB coach rumor thread WWJFD gave thoughts on Coach Tom Brennan and ended the post with "Discussion closed."

It's laughable.

People please... if you're hanging out on the discussion board than it's not likely you are the last word on anything directly related to the university... yes we have a bunch of 'insiders' who have 'heard' things... but unless you're the actual player/coach/AD/Chancellor being discussed... you don't have a last word... and in fact as this board shows...even then others have a right to continue the dialogue...

Enough with these last words... I mean it... Discussion closed!

Haha, sorry. I didn't mean to have it come across as if no one could talk about it. I understand, it's a message board. I was just putting my view out there.

I was just trying to comment on the fact that some people use may use this to try and alienate a person. I was just worried that if someone who had the info released it, it would be detrimental to the team and others involved. If others want to talk about it, by all means, go ahead. My mission was not to post the "end all". I was just expressing my opinion

I was also commenting on people who come on here, pretty much bragging that they have information, but can't tell it to anyone. That peeves me off (Ohh, I know something you don't, but I can't tell you). It just spews up the rumor mill and speculations even more.

Sorry if I put it across like that, but it wasn't my intention.

ok this is the deal. after i found out what happened, i was ready to post it here, but then i was asked not to in a very stern way because coach green and the athletic dept agreed to leave it as a "violation of team rules". so im not coming on here bragging. if you are ticked off because you do not know...sorry, but no one on this board who knows about this situation is gonna spill it, because of how coach green and staff wanted it handled.

That is what I said. I said that I didn't want the information released, because it would alienate the people involved (Read my post before this too). I'm glad no one is talking about it because as far as I'm concerned, it's an in-house incident that is being dealt with correctly.

All I'm saying that if people have information, but can't release it anyway, don't even bring it up, because it makes the rumor mill spin even faster. It wasn't a personal attack on you.

:?:

Let me re-phrase this post:
"It should be left alone. But, here's a juicy little detail to tantalize the rumor mill. And Green will make an announcement about the whole thing soon. But, it should be left alone."

Which is it gonna be, Dickie?

I was asked not to say anything so I will honor those people that asked me not to.

Let me say this though, it has been made to be a whole lot worse than it really is. It's serious, yes, but nowhere near as bad as some people make it out to be. She got the punishment she deserved, let's just move on.

We can call it a TEN YEAR felony anniversary if we want. It was a mere DECADE ago that one player was suspended for stealing phone cards and another was suspended for selling stolen jewelry and perfumes. Those scandolous lady flames!!!

(Disclaimer, I have NO CLUE what happened in this situation. Just thought I would point out that stuff has happened before)
