If you want to talk ASUN smack or ramble ad nauseum about your favorite pro or major college teams, this is the place to let it rip.

The way I read it is that it is a 5 year commitment with a $4 million dollar buy out. I don't know if that's per year left on the contract or if it:s just a flat $4 million. But nothing negative for LU from this. If somekind of AAC/ Mountain West/ Pack 12 merger or shifting happens...it's less likely that WKU or Middle Tennessee would leave. If there was an AAC offer for LU...LU would pay the $ to get out. But depending on how things shake out ... everyone might stay together in CUSA for 5 years. That's not bad. You know...for as much flack as CUSA commissioner Judy takes with the jeep picture...when CUSA was down to 5 schools and looked like imploding...it only took her and the presidents about a month to add 4 more...then she added KSU for 10. Then, for as bad as a position CUSA was in, they got a decent media deal done with CBSSN and ESPN...and also got the teams to sign a GOR for stability. Judy quickly acted to keep the conference viable even with the defections. The Pac12 seems to have imploded because it took them too long to make decisions.

I think ADIM had more to do with this than people realize.

Is that speculation or something more? ADIM seems to be a smooth operator, and his decisions so far in his tenure seem to all make a lot of sense. I'm curious though, is he really viewed as favorably by outside peers as we make him out to be on this forum? Just curious as I'm not an insider on this anymore.

I can't speak for current CUSA administrators, but I have worked with some of his former ASUN colleagues and he was exceptionally respected and envied by them.

One of the Sam ADs is one of my neighbors, but it hasn't come up in conversations yet. My guess is with so many new members, everyone will be feeling eacho other out this first year.

I'm in Atlanta at a conference. Last night I was talking with an individual who's employed by a "northern college". He spoke very favorably of our AD.

It is smelling more and more like the ACC might go ahead and quickly bring in Stanford & Cal at reduced revenue and SMU at no media revenue. But until that is finalized, everything else is conjecture.

That is what the media is throwing around. The questions are, which one (or more) of Clemson, FSU, UNC, and NC State are going to flip - and if the revised revenue distribution will be palatable to all the current yes votes. These next couple of days will be interesting.

I honestly don't think anyone announces an exit from the ACC until at least next summer. I could be surprised but I just don't see it right now.

Think he was talking about flipping their vote from no to yes for Calford add - not leaving ACC early...

I do think that if the ACC agrees to the SMU deal, it creates a precedent for a league accepting a school who declines media revenue payouts. That helps our AAC cause and potentially MWC as well under certain cirumstances that are unlikely at this stage.

Maybe the Pac2 reloads and creates a nationwide footprint. Picks up the best teams from G5's.

It won't necessarily be the best teams. It'll be who they feel can attract the most money.

The 2 options being floated the most on the TwittersX are:
1.Merge with the AAC, while somehow keeping the PAC brand and/or A5 status.
2. MWC dissolving w/PAC 2 taking 9 MWC & t3-5 of the best of the AAC.

So unless they join the b12, AAC or MWC outright, there'll still be G5 movement that may affect us in some form.

With the Group of Five conferences, specifically the Sun Belt Conference, the ACC could get teams geographically closer to their hub. The downside would be the fact these teams might not agree to not getting conference money, as SMU, California and Stanford have already done.

That could make things a bit complicated, as Clemson and Florida State have been vocal about wanting more money from the conference. While there are other programs that could join the Atlantic Coast Conference, it would not be the best thing for the conference.

It appears that CalFord to the ACC or B12 is dead. Unless the B10 decides to save them, they appear to only have 4 real viable options:

1. Save the PAC by taking the best of the AAC & MWC.
2. Merge with the AAC in some fashion.
3. Merge with the MWC in some fashion.
4. Indy & WCC.

I think option 1 is the best and 2 the next best. Swallowing their pride and holding their noses is unavoidable at this point for Calford. it actually makes me chuckle that those 2 woke "academic elites" got left behind.

ACC moving closer to adding Cal, Stanford, SMU

https://www.msn.com/en-us/sports/other/ ... r-AA1fSXef

.
$50-$60 million per year would be on par with the SEC's reported $60 million per school in media rights and substantially more than the Big 12's $31.6 million.

Cal, Stanford and SMU get the short end of the stick but neither Cal nor Stanford can afford to be left behind in the conference realignment shuffle, while a move to a major conference is an opportunity SMU can't pass.

Maybe they would change the name to A&PCC:

Seems Clemson may be willing to change from a "No," to a "Yes," on Stanford, Cal, and SMU
