Just gave Sherard his endorsement. Said Sherard is ready and would do a fabulous job.

like the concept but still thinking we're looking for the second coming of "K" or Wooden.

probably better- for "splash value" - though Sherard WOULD probably do a great job

Awesome!

That is a big time endorsement from someone close to the program.

Maybe there will be an announcement on ESPN tommorrow when they cover the Big South championship game.

Next year will look very promising with Al Sherard at the helm and with all of our returning players and new recruits intact

Easy, there, Paradox...
...I expect JB will try to hire a head coach with no connections to any previous Liberty staff...but I expect the new coach to try to retain at least one of he previous assistants.

Yeah I dont think it will be previous staff, but what do I know? Im only on... well i was anyway

Alexis Would be a great coach, but Im sure Barber has someone in mind and hes been calling quite a few people and I think if he would have went in house with it He would have Kept ZJ and DO... ZJ is a great coach and D has a 7 foot highly recruited reason to be here, but i guess we didnt look at that

At the very least, let's hope that Coach Sherard stays on as a top assistant coach.

Sherard would be a perfect fit right now. In addition, we can remove the word rebuilding from our vocabularies.

TURNING CARTWHEELS???

On the same show, they replayed the interview Dennis Carter had with RD after his dismissal, where he said something to the effect that many AD's would be "turning cartwheels" over the job he did in his 5 years' time as head coach at LU.

Anybody feel like doing a cartwheel in RD's memory? :pbjtime

see the caption thread.

Pete said he respected the Liberty program and Jerry Falwell. He came to Lynchburg to visit Coach Sherard. When asked if he would be a candidate for the LU job, he said No. That is when he gave his support to Coach Sherard and the ready and would do a fabulous job with LU.

After Gillen was done, it was thought of one of the Dj's that Gillen was insulted by the question whether he would want to coach at LU. the other disagreed.

Then the next segments of the show was a basic Dunton bashing to a degree.

All of the Sports Line shows are Pod Cast, but I'm not sure if tonight's is up there yet or not. I actually heard the interview twice--once on WSET with Dennis Carter again tonight on WLNI. If fairness to RD, he was probably referring to winning the BSC tournament in his second year, taking over a program that had been ranked dead last in the RPI under Hanky.

Here's the link for Friday's show: http://www.sportslineradio.com/content/view/968/90/
