For those who missed it (I didn't see it posted anywhere)... but Larry Blair was recognized at convocation this morning by Coach D and Jeff Barber for becoming all-time Big South scoring leader. He got a nice size trophy. Dunton also got on the mic and encouraged the students to come out to the game.

When Dunton plugged the game I don't remember him actually saying that this was a tournament game, just a "big game." He also threw out that the game was $3 with the student ID... I don't know if that's good or not, because some people won't come because of the price, but on the other hand, it's good to let people know ahead of time. Either way, if it were me I wouldn't have said anything about the price, because once people get there, they don't want to walk all the way back to the dorm or wherever, they may be inclined just to buy the ticket.

High scoring, fast paced with something significant at stake! I would want to see it in person. Do they have the Liberty Channel in their rooms or are they watching on the net? Also are you guys gonna have to pay to watch tomorrow (for those that are not in Lynchburg that is)?

price is set by the Big South, and LU has nothing to do with it?

The game prices are set by the Big South Conference office...however, most of you would be happy to know that the Athletic Department actually talked the price down. It was supposed to be more than that, as it has been in years past.

i think everyone missed the sarcasm. i obviously know that dunton had nothing to do with ticket pricing for the tournament-i will not back down however that at least 50-60% of the posts are just complaints especially when it comes to mens basketball- i see it this way i am a LU fan he is the coach of our team we have a winning conference record in his tenure as well as a title and are set to host a home playoff game-lets let the guy off the hook until the season is over then let the powers that be make the decisions they are entitled to make as professionals

since we all know liberty students are all cheap they could do what they have done in the past and buy up 2,000 student tickets and the first 2,000 get in for free....and didn't JF himself buy like 4,000 student tickets for the Big South Championship game back in 2004??

Anyways, I think attendance will be right on target with the rest of the season....no less, no more....

Wow... I read this thread and thought that they misunderstood what Dutchy was saying and was going to back you up... but then I read this post and you are WAY too sensitive about what Ed said... that couldn't be further from a personal attack... a political analogy that he made b/c he missed your sarcasm... but not an attack. I doubt Ed was "bringing politics into it"... just using an analogy... I love analogies so I felt led to defend him...

FSN - It is Dunton's fault that the tickets are 3 bucks. It is a part of his evil scheme to replace George Washington one the face of the one dollar bill. By charging 3 dollars he can than begin to collect all the one dollar bills in circulation and fiendishly replace them with the "new" "Randy Dunton Dollar". Shhessh.
