Who knows, maybe if they get a few more talented players, we might see them have more success with it.That is because you are fat and old!!! I LOVE this style and your OWN stats even proved that it CAN be successful and arguably HAS been successful this year. Give them another year to get the rythm down and it will be fun to watch (even more so than now).

Chris Lang wrote:VMI's style is definitely starting to wear on the players. The 3s aren't coming as easily, and they've never been able to defend well to begin with. VMI has to score at least 110 to beat anyone. If they're just a little cold (like they were in the early going Wednesday), it's going to be tough for them to win.Chris, I'd agree with your comments and add that although Duggar hastily installed this system due size contraints, we really don't have the pure shooters or trappers to run this system, either. We understand that recruits are in the pipeline, but I'm concerned that could mean we're still years away--it's not like any JUCO's want to transfer into the Ratline.
I agree with those who say this was the better matchup for LU. I don't think UNCA's all that good, but they do present some matchup problems and they play much better defense than VMI does. Liberty comes out ahead in just about every matchup against VMI. The Keydets can't defend Brewington at all. He's way too quick in the open floor. The way to slow Dwight down is to bog him down in a half-court game and take away his creases near the basket. VMI just doesn't do that very well. The system will work fine down the road for Duggar, I think. Give him some time to recruit and get a few key pieces in there. I agree with SCAR ... they've got some players who really aren't great DI players who see a lot of minutes. The first six (Reggie, Chavis, Travis, Murrer, Robinson, Lonon) are all very solid. But you can't play that system with just six players. The depth will come in time.
Realist wrote:He said earlier in the year that he was sticking to the system into the future.Yes, it didn't take us long to get national press with this system, and the players love the chance to stack their stats. Duggar said he's had prospects calling him, and that's never happened at VMI.
I hate you Merry Christmas :D  May[…]
