Liberty is America's team. Red white and blue. Conservative Christian school. It's whole brand is American.

I also wanted to add, those announcers were the worst I've ever heard. Totally into Coastal, and complained about non existent penalties repeatedly. Terrible. Even my friend who's not a fan of LU was texting me complaining.

Officiating was pretty awful. Can't argue with that but they were questionable across the board and were consistently bad. So I mean, at least they were consistent? Haha

They largely feel they lost because of the officiating. What a bunch of cry babies.
Liberty set the tone on this game from the first possession. Coastal is a good team but Liberty was just a little better all night and earned that W.
I feel the announcers instigated this. They were whining about missed calls all night.

Excruciating final moments of regulation, but worth it for the ending! So important to cap the season with this one!

Can't wait to see the week to week performance Liberty's QB puts up next season!
I believe we will be 9-0 in our 2021 campaign going into the "open" week November 6th. There will be a lot of hype for Malik Willis and an easy schedule to rack up the stats. Hopefully we finish strong in the final 3 weeks. Not sure how good Ole Miss will be, but HCHF return to Oxford will get a lot of hype! Liberty goes 12-0 next season. You heard it here!

I have never seen such and undisciplined team. We didn't play our best....but the real good guys won. The true America's team won! Chadwell better put some discipline on his team!
America would never have a chicken as a mascot. Media fabrication.

I dunno. Supposedly Ben Franklin wanted a Turkey :D

I like our chances. Gotta stay humble and not live off the success of this year both in the offseason and when the season arrives. If we can do that I think we have a great shot. Toughest games prior to Ole Miss I think will be UAB (I played for Coach Clark in HS, he can coach) and Troy. Napier right after that Ole Miss game won’t be an easy one either.

How the tables have turned in this rivalry. In FCS, Coastal was getting postseason wins and LU was celebrating conference co-championships. In FBS, LU has multiple post season wins, and Coastal is celebrating a co-championship. :)

We talked about it after the game. The consensus is .............. we won't be, but we should be. Played a better schedule, won the matchup game and had the same record.

Officiating was horrible, but it was horrible for both sides. We overcame 3 TO's, which is hard to do. CCU has a good QB and some good receivers. But I have to say, for the last time this year, they play dirty and it is a direct reflection of their coach. Chadwell is a punk.
Great win for the Flames.

Yes.
Coastal is actually a Sunbelt co-champion this year.

We know how that feels!! Being a conference co-champion that loses the last Big game of the year. :)

Just fun to point out the irony.

With the Sunbelt being 4-0 in bowl games + the convincing win by BYU: this was a HUGE win for the LU brand. It was clear that no one took us serious as the commentators slobbered over every Coastal storyline. It was the middle of the 4th quarter before they even showed previous Liberty game footage. The broadcast crew were caught flat footed by the result, which in a weird way makes the impartial viewer pull for us. I had many friends not affiliated with LU tell me they were rooting for us. We played the spoiler and that was huge!

So PH you are admitting being G5 “ Elite” in year 2 just happened? Do we need to wait another 30 years to plan for P5 “equivalent” or stay the course in line behind 8 other G5 schools with G5 “ history” to maybe possibly, impossibly, get an “ invite” to a P5 conference ? OR, perhaps we pursue something a bit larger ? BTW - our last loss to a G5 team was week 3 of 2019 when our coach was in a dentist chair...

It took me 2 hours after the game to fall asleep. Today I am putting my two LU flags on my car and riding through Northwest NJ inventing errands so I can stay on the road! The QB play for both teams was amazing. Two gritty players who put on a show.

For some reason, people keep mixing the rankings, using the CFP of #12 for Coastal and AP of #23 for us, but Coastal is actually #9 in the AP. That just adds to the list of firsts for this team:

First 10 win season
First top 25 ranking
First win over an ACC team (twice this season)
First win over a top 25
First win over a top 10
College Gameday almost made it to a Liberty game
Record number of nationally televised games (don't know the exact number but I'd guess 6)

What else was this team the first to do? The list seems like it could go on and on. It's almost impossible to top this season other than a NY6 bowl or a top 10 ranking...

Freeze doesn't speak much on polls but here are his thoughts from last night.
I want to take time if I can, I don’t ever comment on people’s thoughts of us publicly, but it has been a little bit troubling or irritating in our locker room as this football committee that does the rankings on Tuesday night. I just wonder really what people look at sometimes. I would ask you guys ask you’re writing and talking about our team, what team in the Group of Five played 3 Power Five’s and beat a top 15 team? Anybody answer that? Yet, when those rankings come out…Listen, Cincinnati and BYU and Coastal, what great years they’ve had. I think the world of all those teams, I’m glad to see all of them, but I don’t know of anybody play the schedule that we did. I hope it’s reflected in the way people see at the end of the season, but we’re 10-1 and we lost one game at a Power Five opponent on their field by one point. I don’t know. It’s been hard for me to understand. People talk about they want you to go schedule strong games and play opponents, and we did that. Hopefully people see it that way now with us beating an undefeated top 15 team to add to our resume.
