With 9 wins, LU should go bowling ahead of all those crummy teams with 2-5 wins. I realize bowls have the stupid tie-ins, but 9 win team is better than 5 or less wins.
I think some of the crummy teams will reject their bowl bid. COVID may evict some teams. We need to have equipment truck loaded and ready to roll.

If Ian starts getting the feeling that LU is going to get left out, I hope he schedules a game for 12/19. It’s too early to be done☹️😢😩

Ian will get this done. I think we will find a bowl this year. It might not be a great bowl, but an extra game would be awesome.

Could we just schedule an extra game against someone else who's not going bowling? Then sell the TV rights? There has to be another team in the same boat? Jets?

Legit question...if there is no bowl game, how interested are the players in hanging around campus, practicing, not being home for Christmas break for a regular season game?

If there is no bowl game- the last you can schedule a game is 12/19, so I guess the players should be home for Christmas

At this stage, we will probably make sure to let people know we are ready to go if a team has to back out. I just don't see a lot of openings for us right now.

We shall see.

If we were to schedule a game on 19th, schedule someone that we'd be heavy favorites in. 10 wins would be nice.

But I don't think door to a bowl game will be closed by the 19th.

I can't elaborate, but there are unusual plans being worked on, pertaining to bowl game, according to very good source(s).

With the bowl exceptions being made this year, I don't see where there is room for us unless a team has COVID issues.

Finishing the year being 9-1 and a top 25 ranking is a major accomplishment. Bowl or no bowl

That's what I was thinking. Call it the COVID Bowl... ;)

If only there was a team potentially in need of another game...
They will change that rule... No way they don't let Ohio State play in that game. They need Ohio State to make Playoffs. Way too much money lost if they don't.

Ohio State hasn't played enough games to be n playoffs, but I'm sure B10 will change their rules, or get the worst team in B10 to cancel a game, and play Ohio State. I see the integrity of college football being challenged in this deal.

If my memory is correct, a non conference game will not do OS any good, they need 6 conference games to qualify for B10 title game.

By you "host", you mean in FL, right (not VA)?

How the B1G works (or doesn't) with OSU will be interesting. Earlier this year, they barred Nebraska from playing an out of conference opponent as a substitute for a COVID cancelation.

with all the heat thats been on the B1G the past 6 months I doubt they let it happen. The integrity of the B1G conference office is wayyyyyy too flimsy already. I just don't see them changing the rules for OSU. I just want to know the over under on how long until they fire the commissioner.

I don't think playing non conference game will do them any good. They need 6 conference games , I believe, to qualify for Little 10 championship game.

I sincerely hope they don't make playoffs. heck, Texas A&M, Florida and Georgia are better anyway.

Your dislike for the Big 10 sometimes clouds your judgement. It wasn't long ago you were saying TA&M was very overrated. I dislike OSU, very much, but I would expect them to beat each team that you mentioned (they would certainly be solid favorites). They are very good and should be in the playoffs. But things change radically every week, as we have experienced.

I see your point, but Big 10 should be penalized for starting season late, because of poor leadership. Ohio State has 1 average win(Indiana), and 4 wins over weak teams. No one knows how good they really are, because they haven't played anyone. If RPI was used in football, Big 10 would be sucking wind.

Right now I think IU and Northwestern would play for the B1G championship. For those of us a bit older how crazy is that. Those 2 teams used to be atrocious and now....
Ohio State is hosed. They are good no doubt. But how good? I would love to see Texas A and M rewarded for their season. I just don’t see how you can give OSU a shot at the Title this year.

It sounds like the reasoning was that if they played UM (or anybody) this week and lost, they still hold the tie-breaker over IU and would go to the CCG anyway. I’m okay with the reasoning.
