So true story, I threw my phone across the room when VT blocked our kick and won the game. I was so mad haha. Thank God for that timeout!!

I could hear the whistles pretty clearly through the broadcast. Not sure why everyone reacted that way.

The crazy thing is that is even with the same personnel. Goes to show how valuable coaching and technique is.

Looking at our future schedules we play ACC teams 19 times over the next 10 years including this year. If we keep beating up on them like this do they eventually declare us a P5 like BYU so it doesn't look so embarrassing when they lose?

Not only was that a great win but we looked like we deserved to be on the same field as a slightly above average P5 opponent. We mostly played a sloppier game than VT and still managed to hold a lead for the majority of the game. HF keeps proving every week how great of a coach he is. This game was a great example of VT getting consistently outcoached. I really hope to see him stick around long enough to see how high this programs ceiling really is.

Growing up in swva. I have strongly disliked but respected vt as a program. Thats the biggest and its a tide changer for the program. Recruits are buzzing and we dont need the 757 problems. This will echo all through our recruiting base. This isnt the odu fluke win either. This is either the best or 2nd best team tech has had in the last decade.

That o line is something. They were punishing techs lb and dl most of the game. Malik is a stud. If he can protect the ball there isnt much he cant do.

This was a signature win because it wasn't a fluke win, where Tech led the whole game but LU got tricky and managed the upset. There was NEVER a time when Liberty was out of the game, and they led a good portion of it. They went toe-to-toe with a program with a great history and tradition and beat them at their place.

Is it wrong that I enjoy reading the opposing teams' message boards after a win like this? Call it drinking their tears or whatever - I love reading them trash the school and the team all week before, and then visiting the dumpster fire that it turns into after a Liberty win.

First of all, that was so much fun to watch. I’m still pumped. So happy for the team and coaches.

One of the best things about this was this wasn’t one of those games that was derivative of a P5 overlooking an opponent. LU was nationally ranked, undefeated, was getting lots of National ink. LU went into Blacksburg, took care of business, and came home with a solid P5 road win. Very very impressive!

This is the one thing that worries me about not having a conference. If there's no upside to playing Liberty, it's going to get really hard to schedule.

As our reputation grows the upside grows too. Most P5 schools want a good strength of schedule. We aren’t a cupcake buy-game, but that doesn’t mean they won’t want to play.

The only ACC opponent that have between now and 2030 is the 2-for-1 they signed with UNC before they beat them last year and a one off at Clemson. No one else will play them.
