This is why I will always believe ballcoach is a parody. Unless somebody has met him in person.

It's amazing to me how brainwashed people are into siding with their "team". After the last few years, how are you still giving Jerry any benefit of the doubt? I would pretty much believe the 99% of unfounded gripes. Especially by disgruntled former employees.

puttincomputers wrote: October 1st, 2020, 11:24 am Quite often the people complaining about Marxist ideology do so because atheists supposedly dreamed it up. Got news for you... Capitalism was dreamed up by deists (not Christian) and has been pushed hard by atheist propagandists (ie. Militant Atheist Ayn Rand).

Can you explain what you mean by this? You can't just throw something like this out there without sourcing it.
Sure, here are a few sources.
The Hidden Adam Smith in his Alleged Theology https://www.cambridge.org/core/journals ... ore-reader
This particular article is interesting because it talks about how Smith actually removed Christian doctrine from his books after mother died.

The Infidel and the Professor: David Hume, Adam Smith, and the Friendship that Shaped Modern Thought by Dennis C. Rasmussen (A book)

Ayn Rand vs Adam Smith: A grudge match with no winner (article) https://capx.co/ayn-rand-vs-adam-smith- ... no-winner/

Adam Smith's Theology as Secret Writing (article) http://darwinianconservatism.blogspot.c ... iting.html

Ayn Rand - No Proof of God (includes clip of her saying theists are evil, or something to that affect)

Ayn Rand - Reason and Atheism

(I called Ayn militant because while I was growing up, speech like hers was called militant by right-wing propagandists like Rush Limbaugh.)

Nothing really revelatory in here but it compiles much of this thread ...

Jerry Falwell, Jr. turned a struggling Christian school into a billion-dollar enterprise and became Donald Trump's evangelical wingman — until his demons caught up with him

By BOB MOSER
OCTOBER 18, 2020

On May 27th, the second day of mounting national outrage over the killing of George Floyd by Minneapolis police, the president of America’s largest evangelical university decided it was the perfect time to blast out a tweet featuring the crudest of racial imagery. “I was adamantly opposed to the mandate from @GovernorVA requiring citizens to wear face masks until I decided to design my own,” wrote Jerry Falwell Jr. Below the text was his design: a mask displaying the image of a white person in blackface, standing next to a fellow sporting a Klan robe and hood.

I find it quite interesting how the mainstream media basically regurgitates the JFJR stories simply because, in their mind, it makes Christians and especially Trump supporting Christians (who they despise most) look bad.

Save71 seemed to indicate they are only interested in financial and are ot following up on the sexual abuse allegations. I'm guessing that's just the area this firm deals in which is fine but the other issue seems like a pretty important thing for SOMEONE to deal with.

Yeah, I saw that. From my understanding that is the main focus but if other things are found they will disclose those findings as well.

They have a good reputation so I don't think you need to worry.

But your fear of false allegations is odd and pretty unfounded. There is a risk of that for sure but if that is your biggest fear than your priorities on this are a little skewed on this.

I expect a lot of lies will be told.
Well, there is quite a bit of fact that is water under the bridge at this point. I wonder if someone will complain about employees who are overpaid and wear skinny jeans...

That should be #1 compliant.

Someone could do that job for 75,000, living out of mobile home on Timberlake Road.

I agree that the person holding that position isn't right for it but that position is, and should be, a pretty big deal for the spiritual health of our University. I have no problem with the compensation considering the scope of that position. I just have a problem with who is holding. 2 totally different issues.

The biggest thing I hope happens after we are on the other side of this (other then removing some people from their positions) is that other position start to get compensated more fairly.

Nothing. I was just pointing out no need for university owned house on the mountain.
You pointed out nothing. You just made some random statement. Why would that position not warrant a housing allowance or University housing? It’s not unheard of at that level of leadership

Well.... guess we can add this to the bingo card of "headlines you never thought you'd read in 2020....in 2019."

"Jerry Falwell Jr. is suing Liberty University after his forced resignation over sex scandal"

I wonder how weird that must be to be David Corey. Guess it's like the character Ron LaFlamme from Silicon Valley.
