But they are supposed to be (somewhat) unbiased purveyors of information. That should supersede a lot of things. I don’t expect a Political figure to call it right down the middle but I would expect the Press to at least try. And I know this sounds like a talking point but it’s true, the treatment Obama got compared to W and Trump are polar opposites

You're not wrong. Depending on media outlets of course. We could go round and round about the media all day. I think it is a tired talking point from the right and is used to justify way too much.

Right now all media is driven by sales. Grab a drink and once your inhibitions are gone watch. The media is pandering to our need to feel right. They are selling us via con formation bias. It is extremely difficult to find news media of any type that is more about the corporate line, bottom line. Gets way worse in social media venues. Both received crappy treatment it just depends where you looked. The mainstream may seem more prevalent because the big 3 and the N had a built in foundation when we started social medi"izing".
Facts. Research actual government policies. You may find both sides are playing us pretty dang hard. A ton of words that rile us up but the action to prevent that. The discord is required for the parties to continue building the divide. If I were a student I could spend years on building a wonderful paper off of this alone.
Profs..... feel free to share the thoughts with your students. Someone may change the world.

You've got crazy reporters yelling "Mr President do you believe you're a super spreader" as he leaves the hospital and you have a Fox News corresponding talking about Trump's tenacity to tackle the virus. Both are just as insane.

A. The man is sick, show him a little respect as he leaves the hospital. The liberal press is insane.

B. He was pumped full of drugs your everyday person isn't pumped full of (unless the case is serious) making it impossible to judge his case fairly. Conservative press is insane.

This whole Covid deal has just put a huge magnifying glass on the insanity of the American media.

At this point, left wing and right wing media are nothing more than gaslighting campaigns against each other. I turned it off years ago.

Not sure what thoughts are, but it seems incredibly obvious to me with Fancy Nancy's presser yesterday on the 25th Amd. that the Presidential candidate for the dems is Kamala Harris. I'm a little surprised they are trying this at this point in the election. The undertones seem clear it's not for Trump, but preparation for Biden winning.

If anybody here thinks Trump has had a good week, you truly have blinders on. The best thing that has happened for his campaign is that bizarre stunt Nancy Pelosi pulled yesterday that @rtb72 mentioned.

Will be an interesting few weeks. I still think Trump wins but it is going to be close. Which either way it goes, the last thing I want is a close election. It will drag this thing on even longer.

I think the bill being touted about a congressional committee for the 25th is absolutely worth debating and discussing.

The timing of it is 100% political though. If they waited til January to put that through, I’d be in support of it getting a floor debate.

I’m curious why you think this. The polls right now have Biden up comfortably. Fivethirtyeight is giving Biden an 85% chance to win right now. Is this because the polls were off in 2016?

I think the polls are better this time around but after 2016, it seems pretty clear the polls were really bad at determining Trump's support. I'm not sure they have gotten that much better but maybe they have.

Also, I've been saying it for months. No need to change now.

All of 2016, I said Trump had no chance and I was extremely wrong. Maybe I'm wrong this time around too. Time will tell.

I think you're right. I don't think we'll know anything about the winner till days after Nov. 3rd.

Trump didn’t have a great week but Pence did. Stopped the bleeding. I totally agree. This 25th Amendment stunt is all about Biden
