I know it is Southern Miss's first game but I like our O-lines and D-lines against their guys. I also think we have the obvious coaching advantage as well.

Yeah, after seeing them lose to S. Alabama, I definitely see our game vs them as a probable win for us. They really only have that one receiver #5 to watch out for. Nothing really too intimidating about them.

With no many colleges not playing football this fall, the smaller schools are gettting more national attention:
1. Marshall is playing EKU on ESPN on Saturday.
2. LU is playing WKU on Sept. 19.

Makes sense with practically no fans in The Bill. Save a little money without the lights & the visiting teams can get home a little earlier.

Also, despite all the jokes, sunlight actually does kill Covid.

Better disavow when you have the chance; it's not possible for heat to kill a virus. That's psuedo-science  . Back on the subject of attendance capacity, I don't see Northam changing the limit. While talking to ticket representative, I mentioned using other facilities to use to watch the games(as discussed here on this thread). She said that it's a good idea and would pass it on. I don't think I was the only one who has mentioned this lol.

Even though I am going to get into all of the home games and I am not a resident of VA, I just wrote the Governors office to ask him to reconsider the guidelines for football attendance.
Of course, I didn't tell him I was a LU fan. 8)
It can't hurt for you to do the same. It is easy. It may not make a difference, but nothing ventured, nothing gained. There are a lot of fans at the Army game today. :football :football

I did not say heat, I said sunlight, and more properly stated, it "inactivates" Covid-19

As far as your blanket statement that it's not possible for heat to kill a virus, if you are referring specifically to hot weather, that is true, since a minimum temp. of 56 degrees centigrade is needed for that, which is equivalent to 133 Fahrenheit. It can be a factor when combined with sunlight and humidity.

How is it that there were @ 5K students at the stadium for a Wednesday prayer event first week of school?

Religious gathering are exempt as long as they keep 6 feet of distance and wear face coverings. That is my understanding anyways.

That's a transfer of energy, which by definition is heat. I'm not trying to go in circles as to what has been going on for the past few months. I know that's not the normal, but so be it.

PREDICTING LIBERTY FOOTBALL’S 2020 STAT LEADERS
By:Jon Manson

In less than two weeks, Liberty football will take the field in Bowling Green Kentucky to face the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers. Following the loss of several key pieces from the 2019 team, many questions remain as to who will step in to fill those key roles.

Who could be the stat leaders for the Flames this season? We’re focusing on a few key stat categories – rushing yards, receiving yards, touchdowns, sacks, and interceptions.

Trying to figure out why anyone (ie: Elisha Mitchell and Isaac Steele) would "opt out" :dontgetit With the NCAA eligibility pause, there is no logistical reason. If they are legit concerned about getting Covid, are they opting out of all team activities and workouts too? I really don't see how playing in games puts them at any greater risk.

When does the Coach's Show start? Is it tonight, and what radio channel is it on?

I mean they'd be exposed to a whole other team so theoretically that doubles the risk. I don't know the answers to your questions but the fact that eligibility is paused means they won't be punished for opting out by losing a year. I'm fine with players choosing not to play and not getting punished for it. No reason to force a kid to play, and there may be some family history we aren't aware of contributing to the decision.

Maybe I misunderstood the eligibility freeze, but my understanding is it's paused for all Fall sports athletes whether they play or not.

You're right. My point is, that being the case give players the opportunity to sit that may not feel comfortable playing for one reason or another.

Not losing a year of eligibility doesn't mean they shouldn't care if they get sick or not. Everyone, you, I, these players, has to decide what risk they are willing to take in regards to contracting COVID. These guys apparently are more concerned with protecting themselves and families than they are playing a free year of football. As postman said, there could be other issues behind the scenes we don't know about (family medical history, other high risk factors, etc). I applaud them for taking the step to do what they feel is right knowing they'd be questioned about it by most everyone around the program.

Exactly. I'm not of the idea football should be cancelled by any stretch but I'm not going to fault a kid for sitting out.

I just "rolled over" my 3 season tickets until the 2021 season. Crybaby Gosh, that was painful.
