I hope it doesn't, and I don't think it will. While counter to our modern culture, rational minds should see LU as a place of much spiritual richness, which has been plagued by inept and sinful leadership. If all of this is true and it seems to be, than the "for cause" clause in any employment contract will become easily invoked. I have been pretty critical of the BOT in the past. However, I believe they are doing their due diligence and that things will be resolved quickly and with the best interest of LU in mind.

I restate my opinion we need a new president with a low profile. Let us heal as quietly as possible. The hypocrisy that has been so evident now is a big slap in the face. Keep the mission. Be spiritually focused. Stay out of the headlines to the extent we can.

Here is another thing. There are people who knew this stuff was going on and decided to leave and not be associated with it, stay and not saying anything because they had a cushy job (Most of the Executive Team) or were in such a hard place that it would have been nearly impossible to leave since they were providing for their family. I can tell you that LW is a wonderful person who has been put in many difficult situations but has always done her best to service the university and stick to her faith.

Knowing from ""personal experience"" how easy it is to fall, I've learned to keep my eyes on Christ ... not any man or women. He just needs to get straight with the Lord. Logic says that this isn't the only illicit relationship. The recklessness of this behavior cannot be emphasized enough.

Over the coming weeks and months I'm sure photos and audio/video will be "leaked", other "participants" will come forward with more stories of their perverse behavior (some fake, some real).

Its difficult to imagine how bad this will get. eg: were students also involved? Does their recklessness and risk taking extend to financial and legal matters too?

Unfortunately this is going to be a multi-year housecleaning. Shocked it was allowed to get this bad and I'm pretty sure its much worse.

I understand this line of thinking, and appreciate the concern for the students. There needs to be an investigation of Jerry & Becki for a number of reasons, but I push back on this type of commentary. We need to be really careful as to not brush shoulders with gossip. We know there was an inappropriate relationship but it doesn't mean that Jerry or Becki had inappropriate relationships with anyone besides Granda. Diving into conjecture or conspiracy theories really take away from the severity of what happened, and make it seem as if this is just for our entertainment.

LU needs to send a clear message immediately and terminate Jerry Jr. At the same time, we need to rally behind both Jerry & Becki. While they have embarrassed the university, and are in need of a great revival, it's also important that we give them the chance for forgiveness. Neither should ever again have any position of authority within the school, but we should all be praying for their family, for their marriage and for their salvation.

Because of the severity of what happened, you have to ask those questions.

There have been rumors of things with students for years. Were they just Jerry and Becki being overly friendly or was there more to it that we don't know about? Unfortunately, because of their indiscretion, we are forced to view those rumors in a new light. You are correct we don't want to get into the world of gossip, but when there's this much smoke along with a pretty strong brush fire, you wonder if it's just the edge of a massive structure fire.
