I thought Biden's speech was a good one and kind of killed the narrative that he can't perform on the big stage so now the narrative has changed to saying he can't operate without a teleprompter.

It is comical to watch republicans and democrats paint their opponent as out of touch old men. I mean, both are true statements but come on. The hypocrisy of both parties is just ridiculous but people eat it up. They love what makes their ears tingle.

A little over 2 months and it'll be over. At least I hope.
Biden’s speech was adequate. Very few people are gushing over it. It is very striking to hear him give a speech from say 2012 and one today. The decline is absolutely apparent and indeed heartbreaking. He really was a likeable guy when giving speeches. He was good at them. Now? You can tell he WANTS to be the same but simply cannot. I just have a difficult time watching him on TV and not being reminded of my dad.
Trump is completely different. He is so addled with ADHD that he can’t complete sentences because he’s gone on to the next one before finishing the last one. Then remembers he for got to finish the last one and goes beck to finishing both at the same time. It’s sort of like me talking. Ha!

The interesting fact is that Trump appears to have gotten a boost from the a Democrat’s convention

Probably better left unsaid.
Also probably true.
You can name the federal bureaucracy, and anything below sub-cabinet level is likely to be run by people who hate Trump. Because the Bushes was so consumed with being apolitical, there really has not been much Republican influence there since Reagan.

Yeah, that one is just Trump being Trump. The under God tweet is so easily refuted it just makes him look silly.

It’s funny you get so sensitive when others take you out of context or say that you said things you didn’t mean. Here’s the Tweet. He does not claim the FDA is the Deep State.

He says “the deep state over at the FDA.” The “or whoever” is an addition to that, not a replacement. That’s basic grammar. How am I taking that out of context?

I found this article since you linked Newsweek. Thanks PH 😃

Keep backpedaling. Even if we read it your way he’s calling some people at the FDA members of the Deep State not the entire agency. Or he’s calling people The Deep State but not the FDA because that would be your additional “or whoever” as opposed to reading it as a replacement.

So he is claiming the Deep State is so influential in the FDA as to be able to impact their operations and procedures. If that were true, what would the difference in the two be? Would they not then be one in the same?

You often claim Trump is not a republican, yet the entire Republican Party is now based around his form of politics.

Would this not be a similar situation if what he said were true?

TDS isn’t exclusive to Rush (so glad I got to see them before Neal’s passing). It’s been around a lot of circles. Glad Rush picked it up.

Even in context the statement was ridiculously tone deaf but the left have removed all context from that statement by editing the statement making it impossible to fairly discuss how tone deaf the statement was.

Trump does and says a lot of things, including blantant lies that are easy to disprove, why this is the statement they continue focus on is beyond me.

My only guess is it appeals to their base which goes back to the point that the left and right use the same tactics making it impossible to have intelligent conversations about any divisive issue, especially racism.

Such is life in the country where 2 parties rule.

man alive enough with the botox injections, biden looks like fire marshall bill up there.

A teleprompter speech written by writers that people fawn over. guys had 40+ years in important offices to get something done and has done nothing but kowtow to corporate interests and put more poor people in jail than near any other politician.

I think the DNC had no idea that this pandemic would give them a chance and just propped up ole joe as "hey man, you earned it, give it a shot" on the off chance trump makes some silly blunder enough to lose it.

But now I'm not sure outside of trump anyone wants to be in power the next 4 years. If biden wins, they are already saying they won't be able to do much.
https://cepr.net/the-burden-of-the-debt ... d-kaufman/

"Top Biden adviser, and long-time personal friend, Ted Kaufman was seen in the Wall Street Journal warning that the debt run up by the Trump administration will seriously limit what Biden will be able to do as president."

i'm beginning to think the next 4 years are going to suck in the aftermath of this virus. anyone in power is going to be written in the history books as uber losers. like they are already setting up that if they win, nothing is their fault because of what the Trump era has done to the US.

Also biden winning basically just stops hard stances on China and its multiple atrocities and historically we'll see their growth into a potentially even bigger superpower than they are laid at the feed of Biden and the democrats.

Biden is the best democrat the republicans could hope for in reality. He's a slightly left of center corporate authoritarian.

But I thought he is part of the radical left!

But I so agree, as soon as it became clear that Biden was going to be the nominee, I knew Trump would win. Covid helped give Biden a boost but he needs the black democrats vote like Hillary did and they aren't going to turn out for him just like they didn't turn out for Hillary.

I believe it will go beyond black voters not turning out for Biden. I expect a lot more of them will be voting for Trump, fed up by the condescending and entitled attitude the democratic party in general and Biden specifically have shown toward them.

I'd be surprised if that happened. He already got more votes from Afirican Americans than past Republicans and I'd expect that to remain pretty steady. I believe that was 8% which seems like a fair guess.

There is a reason Trump keeps mentioning suburban women. That demo could help make or break his re-election hopes and he knows it.

Regardless, most people have already made up their minds. It'll be interesting if the swing states are any closer this year.

I get why they are going for the suburban women ("housewives")...because they left in droves in 2018. But now they are using fear of "others" (dog whistle) to get them back...which has to alienate somewhat the little black support he will get.
