Back to the 2020 season, LU has been pretty adamant about Western Carolina being on our schedule. A quick look at the WCU board indicates that we are one of just two games on their schedule along with Eastern Kentucky being rescheduled until after our game. It appears they are intending to use these two payday games as essentially a preseason before SoCon league play in the spring. They had also planned to play Gardner-Webb until they pulled the plug on their season this week.

The number of potential FCS matchups grows shorter by the day.

Army just released their updated schedule and it appears they are planning for all games to be held in West Point:
The Times Herald-Record has learned the Black Knights hope to have seven games at Michie Stadium starting with a season opener against Middle Tennessee State on Sept. 5.

Home games against Louisiana-Monroe (Sept. 12), BYU (Sept. 19) and two Football Championship Subdivision schools Abilene Christian (Oct. 3) and Mercer (Oct. 10) are the latest additions to the schedule. Army lost home games against Oklahoma, Buffalo, Eastern Michigan, Bucknell and Princeton off its original schedule due to conference cancellations and restrictions related to COVID-19.

The Black Knights also would host Air Force (Nov. 7) and Georgia Southern (Nov. 21). Army head coach Jeff Monken led Georgia Southern to 38 wins between 2010-13.

Oooooh boy, I hope we make it to that December 5th game and absolutely crush CCU. Hope to goodness we take at least one of those ACC games as well, if not two.

Good. Let the players who so desperately wish to play, have a say in this decision. I couldn't imagine the blowback and embarrassment of the B1G officials who made this call far too early to please a few people.

I'm happy with the schedule. It has a good balance and we should be able to put ourselves in a position to go to another bowl game which will be a lot of fun.

Also, Coastal. I pretend to not care but I do. That'll be fun.

Bring back those vintage BEAT COASTAL T-shirts. Do we have 2 FCS games on that schedule?

....and times. Are the times originally planned earlier in the year still binding or did they change that too?

A teal field? I'll be flipping my TV into greyscale mode for this game.

5-5 would be legit. 2-2 vs G5, 1-2 vs P5,2-0 vs FCS.

I wouldn't mind 5-5 but I really think we go 7-3. We lose either to Western Kentucky or Southern Miss but we beat either NC State or Syracuse.

5-5 would be legit. 2-2 vs G5, 1-2 vs P5,2-0 vs FCS.
Bad math again. Meant 3-2 vs G5. Honestly 6-4would be really really solid with this schedule. Power Rating ( I know I know ) we are only ahead of FIU ( who best Miami last year ). ULM has some athletes and lost by an extra point in OT to FSU. Southern Miss - always has ballers. FIU beat Miami. WKU 2nd best team we face. Coastal ranked well above us. 3-2 is a big win for us if we do it against that G5 lineup. But as I said before our D will be the factor and I am a big fan of that coordinator and the talent and size we have. Really hard to gauge with the big production pieces we lost and not seeing anyone play. And we have a long streak to keep alive with 6 wins or more...so 6-4 it is with a trio to the Frisco Bowl vs N Texas...

I think 6-4 is entirely possible. I also feel we will be much more difficult to plan against with our new offensive threats. A dual threat QB, and possibly two which can add variety, should provide us some diversity we didn't have last year. Hopefully opens up the field quite a bit. I think HCHF will certainly have a nice, expansive playbook with this crew. Good times ahead...

With Coastal being the last game, it may be a must win for both teams for bowl eligibility. Similar to the Big South days. I hope I can go to that game.

That will also be Coastal's 8th game in a row with no break. We have the week before off.
Looking at our first four games, it is not impossible for us to be 3-1 heading to the Syracuse game.

The date we are playing Coastal is also the day the SBC championship game is scheduled. The league has agreed to move it back a week if Coastal is in it.

If Malik is as good as what the people close to the program are saying he is I can see 6-4, 7-3.

Breaking in a new quarterback, I can't expect anything better than 4-6 or 5-5. That's not to say I don't think we can win 6-7 games, I just can't expect it with so many unknowns.

5-5, 6-4 at best. I am massively worried about our depth at LB. I don't want to ever see a repeat of the Rutgers game where we were run over when 2 of our LB were out. Also, quarterback is certainly a big question mark.
