Losing by 35-50 points In front of no fans doesn’t help LU - no thanks. BYU if they come to us, Army if they come to us - that’s worst case If we have no other options - Preferably we meed ODU,Charlotte type teams that we have a chance of beating.

I don’t completely agree with you. We’d have a pretty good chance of being on national TV, at least one of the actual ESPN’s. Also, playing Notre Dame for most (fans and players) would be as good and almost better that’s a bowl win other than the program’s bowl win bragging rights. Seriously though, I think the fans and players would have better memories playing the Irish at the Joyce (even empty) than playing ULM in Myrtle Beach or Boise.

Is this the year LU and ND finally meet on the FB field?
Cancelling the fall football season will destroy a lot of athletic programs. The MAC isn’t a high revenue conference for football so they aren’t losing much. But P5’s? That’s going to be a rubber meeting road decision. I won’t drag this into the other thread but I’m pretty confident science is saying they will be ok to open. The LAWYERS however....not so much. Boosters? They wanna play. TV.? They need content and will probably sue for breach of contracts. I’m not saying it won’t happen but it’s a much more huger decision than sports no one really missed like softball and baseball

There will be threats and negotiations. Fox CBS ABC ESPN NBC etc spent Billions for content. Sold that to advertisers. If the Conference back out of providing the content that they were paid to provide there will be discussions.

No doubt - if I was still a player I would be all about playing ND. As an alum in year 3 of FBS G level - not about it at all. When we get equal players - then I am all for it and I believe we can if we ever decide to do it.

Negotiations? Yes. Lawsuits? No.

Not a chance. It would backfire VERY quickly.

Which means that the rest of the B1G isn't likely to play. With perennial contenders Wisconsin and Michigan State out, how many other "major," schools will call it quits before the season is just moved to the spring then canceled completely?

Thankfully, the drama will provide entertainment between now and then

With the MAC announcement of the cancellation of the fall season, will any of their players enter the transfer portal. Who are the top difference makers from the MAC that would be a Liberty fit? Make the list and be ready to offer.

This practice is not ballcoach approved.

Au contraire sum. :nono Ballcoach has no problem with transfers when they are joining a team he supports; only when they are leaving. 8) We have one scholarship available, and HF mentioned in his presser that they are keeping an eye on the portal.

I think the MAC surrendered the season too quickly. I wonder do these schools and conferences who throw in the towel, realize the ramifications it has on other schools and/or conferences.

Those who think they can't play football in fall, may as well cancel basketball season also. If you can't play outdoor sport, you certainly can't play an indoor one.

Do you think they should consider them MORE than the safety and fiscal responsibility of the schools/conferences they are directly responsible for leading?

Hopefully Hugh can make some phone calls and fill a few remaining holes. He alluded to such in regards to FCS transfers in his press conference.

We only have one scholarship available. Hopefully there is a starting CB out there who wants to play football this Fall.

I wouldn’t mind playing Army Friday night 9/4. We would have extra time to prepare for option and our D showed the staff knows how to stop it ( Cure Bowl ). They lost their opponent and would be a lot of eyeballs watching nationally. A bit tougher than UConn or Ball State but under the circumstance I would be for playing them.

At this point, we need games to even have the chance to go bowling. We are already on thinner ice and we can hear the ice cracking. I hope we take the chance to add Army and make a deal with ODU and UNC Charlotte. Not sure who else have days open on their schedules (BYU, Middle Tennessee perhaps?)
