Total unorganization in the last minute. We go into the tourney looking completely lost on defense. Typical liberty.

May be better for us if we play stetson instead of lipscomb but i hate hate hate backing into the tournament.

This was such a Typical Liberty game. Had a chance to make history and crapped the bed.

That last minute was ugly.

We didn't lose it in the last minute. We lost it in the first 9 minutes.

We absolutely didn’t lose it in the last minute.

But if we are who we think we are, we played terrible and didn’t give ourselves a chance to win in the last two minutes.

Obviously the first 10 min wiped us out but you want to look like you have a better plan in the final 1 to 2 min than we did. Homesley and scottie at the line late is frightening as well.

What’s happened to Cuffee this year? Abysmal shooting % inside and outside the arc. Seem to recall him being touted as a much improved player this year.

And yes ... typical Liberty.

Cuffee looks like a fish out of water on offense. Defensively he continues to be our best guard on wing but unmercifully bad at the other end. We dont need him to score a ton but we need him to make some of these wide open 3s and drive once a game just to keep the d honest.

It's a mystery. Kid can stroke it. He was our best shooter the first 10-12 games.

Loss didn’t cost us anything ( maybe a seed if we win out ). Good attention smack across the cheek - reset and go on another 9 game win streak...

It will all be forgiven though if March goes just as well or better than last year. Crunch time is upon us boys.

I agree, we have a habit of getting off to a slow start
Today it cost us.

This loss frustrated me more than the Stetson loss for two reasons: 1. We blew a chance to out-right win a regular season title which has never been done before. 2. Losing to Lipscomb on their home court just bites!

Now that I have had some time to process here is my take on the regular season: 1. We were one of the last 5 teams to stay undefeated. 2. We beat an SEC team on their home court. 3. We won a neurtral site tournament. 3. We beat a VERY good Akron team. 4. When we win the conference tourney we will be 30-4! 5. We have the 1 see in our tournament.

Yes, I was hoping we would be 30-1 at this point with our one loss to LSU. But 27-4 is our best regular season record ever!

This team is good enough to do some damage in the NCAA tournament.

The team mailed it in before the game even started. By the time they started to put in effort the hole was too deep. This can not happen next week or we will be stuck with an NIT appearance which would be failure in my opinion. This is the last year for 2 or 3 years where we will be a the clear cut favorite. We need to take care of business.

Also, the free throw shooting is just so bad.

Also as much as it pains me to say, Lipscomb fans are right, we do flop a lot.

I disagree 100% with that statement.

I don’t think we mailed it in. I think we failed to rise to the occasion. We lack that consistent killer instinct.

Hmmm...will the ASUN send another LU to the NIT? Actually, I wouldn't be surprised. We are certainly vulnerable when a team is hot from the floor.

Maybe mailed it in isn't the right choice of words but we clearly weren't prepared mentally for this game and approached it as if we were looking ahead.

The team wasted no time getting back to Lynchburg. I was told one of the players was in Japanese Steak House on Fort Avenue at 8 p.m. Team flew via private jet back.

A few things.

We did not back into the tournament. We are the one seed.

We didn't lose anything in a game that could not provide us anything beyond an outright title.

We got everyones best this year. Everyone knew we were the team to beat. Everyone brought it. Few succeeded.

We go into this tournament and March having played the best the ASUN has to offer. This team has clearly been better challenged by the conference schedule than last year. They're better off for it.

Calm down. For one last week, Fill the Furnace.

Seriously - this was the perfect game to lose. Lipscomb caught a fever that happens 1 in a 1000 games or more and LU was right there at the end. We have known since N Florida loss we have to win the tourney. We had a great stretch of ball until today and last 3 games were best in that we played good ball all game and didn’t have long stretches of ugly. If I am McKay I am loving this -

After seeing social, it’s plainly obvious this game meant so much more to Lipscomb than it did us. From the flopping video their athletic department put out to Casey Alexander tweeting about it, this was their Super Bowl.

Lipscomb and Liberty Twitter were made for each other. Both fan bases tend to present themselves in the same way on Twitter. I'll let you all decide if that is good or bad.

But yes, it was clear this meant more to them than to us. I'd imagine we come out even more focused this week.

Wrong on almost all points.

We lost outright title
We lost seeding on ncaa should we win
We def blew at large if we had a shot anyway
Blew a rivalry game to a team that was “down”
That constitutes backing in ever way id define it.

Doesnt mean we wont rebound to win the tourney
