I could actually go to the Music City Bowl - I'm going to be in the Nashville area visiting my sister right after Christmas. And I think we have a shot against Wake :koolaid

I live in the Chicago metro area. Would definitely make the 7-hour trip to Nashville if LU goes to Music City Bowl.

I could go to that one too so selfishly I’d like it more.

That aside, the Music City vs Wake would be a much better platform than the Cure vs stAte.

I agree with Jon, the platform for a game against Wake Forest on ESPN instead of on CBSSN which is the broadcast for the Cure Bowl. Obviously a win vs Wake Forest or even a BYU type game against Wake Forest will look WAY more impressive and do more for us nationally than a win vs Ark State

I want to think that bowls can "trade" teams. I seem to recall this being before. Maybe Cure can trade us. But all indications point toward us being their top target.

No trades would be necessary. Liberty is a free agent with an "in" with the Cure Bowl. If there is interest from other bowls, it will be up to the AD's office to decide which bowl to accept.

Selfishly, I prefer Nashville or Phoenix.

BNA or MCO works for me. Free bed and wheels in both towns. I would rather play Wake but have been planning a visit to TPA/MCO for a while and need to go soon.

Per Manson, Ian has "hinted" that we would accept a Cure Bowl bid in return for offering the tie-in, but I don't believe we are obligated to do so if we have other offers. I see where it would be honorable to do so, but not necessarily the best thing for Liberty. Tough call. The Music City Bowl would be a tough one to turn down IMHO. Easier access for more Liberty fans, higher profile opponent, but still a winnable game, and doesn't conflict as much with people's holiday plans and obligations.

ESPN just posted that APP States SOS was 103rd or 113th and they are a top 25 school. They are in the talks of the Cotton Bowl(although not likely but still being discussed in the conversation), so what does that tell you? We can do a lot in this bowls and future under Freeze in the next decade. Yes they're in a conference but we've done pretty well getting new tie-ins and possibly more as well. Where ever we go, this is a good start for our first year officially in the FBS.

Here’s my thing. The Cure Bowl asked LU to dance first. They should reciprocate when/if others come calling.

What they actually asked us to do was be their backup plan. To follow up on the analogy, they basically want us to dance with them if their date can't make it. If Memphis loses today, that will likely go away and they will be dancing with another AAC (or maybe even SBC) team. Looking at it that way, I have less of an issue if we decide to shake a leg with someone who knows how to salsa.

App is in talks with the Cotton Bowl because they could be the highest ranked G5 conference champion.

The way it’s set up now, Liberty literally has no shot to ever make the bowl.

Memphis drives the field, but stalls at the 11 and kicks a FG, 7-3. Bizzare start to the game when Memphis opened with an onside kick, which they recovered, but were called for kick catch interference and Cincy got the ball at the Memphis 25, setting up their early TD.

In my mind it doesn’t change. They were the ONLY ones who asked. We should reward that

Phoenix is too far for majority of LU nation.

I made it down to Music Row, Lordy don’t the wheels turn slow, but I wouldn’t trade a minute, wouldn’t have it any other way. Just show me to the stage.

The dance really hasn't started yet Purple. Someone comes to you and says "listen, I have a date for the dance, but I'm not sure if they can come. If they don't show up, will you dance with me? Then the dance starts and others are lined up. Do you have to tell them all no?
