No negative intentions at all, I just see his name mentioned a lot and heard some discussions on sports radio. I sincerely hope he stays.

HF isn't going anywhere for at least 2-3 years. If you've listened to his interviews he truly is enjoying his time here and is in no rush. It affords him the luxury to wait for a perfect P5 job for him.
Those would be perfect landing spots at the moment. I’m not saying he is going but IF he would then those would be the ones

That rumor is random ark fans. Highly unlikely, Hf if interested would not be the one texting people. It would be jimmy sexton.

Fsu no chance. Mizzou, too woke poor facilities school as a whole struggling. Arkansas tennessee and south carolina are the 3 that i would worry about long term that check a lot of boxes on both sides

Kiffin napier norvell leach fickell. Those guys are the ones that will fill most of these jobs were talking about with campbell off the board. Possibly will healy.

If we have any kind of success HF will always be in coaching search discussions. That is the nature of the beast. Nothing wrong with discussing rumors. It is one of the main reason message boards exist.

I too think he will stick around for 3 or 4 years but things can certianly change.

Had Freeze not gotten sick, we'd probably have won 2-3 more games and been a more legitmate candidate for a ACC or SEC Bowl that they couldn't fill, such as the Belk Bowl. There'd also may have been a decent shot that he'd leave this year. However, he did get sick and LU/Jr. took care of him and I think his loyalty has grown. In the first ESPN interview after Taggert got fired, he said that at LU he had the opportunity to build something really special. During the last coaches show at Iron and Ale, he said he wasn't leaving and wasn't even taking calls. He's not leaving anytime soon. I hope he doesn't prove me wrong, because with him, McCaw, and McKay I think they give us a very good chance at the AAC or better. Freeze gets the benefit of the doubt from me.

Happy about this. Would be good for recruiting. Here are some of the top G5 salaries:

S. Florida 5 million
Houston 3.7 million
Memphis 2.66 million
Navy 2.316 million
Cincy 2.3 million
Central Florida 2.3 million
Wyoming 2.137 million
North Texas 1.865 millon
Boise State 1.75 million

Some of these include smaller bonuses which I did not include. Maybe Freeze will make between 1.5 and 2 million?

My P5 equivalent rants and avoiding G5 labels at all costs directly apply on coaching and staff salaries / retention and may be the most important of the 5 major points. . Imagine this scenario - Ian to Hugh “ Hugh; we are locked in through 2026 on scheduling and want to make you highest paid G5 coach. However - we have been discussing with ACC a commitment to independent P5 scheduling of 7 P5 games and the fact they would consider us a P5 game for their conference members SOS. We look to announce the plan to schedule 7 or more P5 ( BYU,ND,Army) included some time in next year or two and announce the plan for 2027 onward. In 2027, Hugh we would have a goal of making you one of top 5 P5 coaches in the country”.

I think coaches are using the perceived disparity between Freeze and LU On the recruiting trail, and they are smart to do so. Tell Prunty that Freeze won't even be his coach for a day once he gets to campus. That sits in a recruits mind. Sign a new contract, that sends a message too. It screams tactical to me.

This tells me that there was some substance to these rumors about other schools

If that's what's happening here then I don't blame HCHF. You have to maximize on your earning potential, and if Liberty wants to keep him then they need to pay accordingly. Side note- I think they will. Jerry wants a BIG time football team.

My understanding is we may have been most worried about Memphis coming after him. If there were a legitimate job for him to leave for this year, that would've been it. I don't think he was a real contender for the P5 jobs, but Memphis being home and what they're willing to pay, it would've been awfully appealing.
