Coaching staff has a big role this week (maybe bigger than usual because of bowl implications) to make sure the team is not unbalanced emotionally. There is a danger of being too pumped up and lose concentration on the task at hand. There is also the danger of being and playing "tight" in fear of making a mistake. The mental game is huge and is being addressed more and more by big time programs like Alabama, for example. Mental coaches and sports psychologists have a growing role in collegiate sports.

Have you guys even looked at NMSU's schedule? They have won their last 2 games and scored over 40 points in each of their 2 wins. And we only beat them by a touchdown in our first meeting this year. Still, Buckshot will have a career day and lead us to a bowl game with no interceptions.
