How far have we come in less than a year that somehow Prunty getting an offer from the Hokies doesn't really concern me that much? I have every confidence that we will be able to keep him "in the fold".

Note to 20Something: Prunty is not on the Verbal Commits thread and Bradford needs to be deleted.

I said it a week before prunty committed that he was the best of the group of dbs we were in on. His length is hard to find without losing athleticism

Tech wont be the last to offer. We will be in a fight to keep him.

Oh, no doubt. Obviously we don't know who else might offer, but if it comes down to us and VT, my $$ is on Freeze/Hunley over Fuentes and whoever their CB coach is.

I agree! Holding him along with the possibility of pulling in Barber and Lamareon James would be awesome as all three of those guys a phenomal in regards to their physical gifts for skill position players. We have some others such as Jackson that really excite me as well.

Would doubt we are in lamareon james after dropping his 2 teammates. I would suspect christian miller or deon biggins. Daniel moyer at rb is still top target. Then a juco ol and dl. Perhaps a juco lb or wr if we find the right one.

If James was a top priority and keeping Lucas and Hunter was the key to landing him, we probably don't drop them. It's not like those 2 guys are chopped liver. My guess is either we are not all that high on him or he had lost interest. It's also possible (if unlikely) that he commits anyway. Stranger things have happened.

By my count, we have 5 scholarships now, and I see 4 targets.

Barber
Moyer
JUCO DL
JUCO OL

We could go in a lot of directions with the other one, but I wouldn't be surprised if we hold onto it and hope to have a P5 commit "Land" in our lap like Tavion did.

I forgot that he also said on the open board that one of the commits is a PWO, so yes, it's 6.

Dropping a 3 star OL while keeping one who has no stars and no other offers is a ballsy move. They obviously trust their own evaluation a lot, as they should. Something else to consider is that non-football issues could have played a role in one or more of those decisions.

I think the best part of how we handled it is how early in the process this is. ESD is still two months away, and another two after that for normal signing day. I really hope these kids can make the best of the opportunities to be a big fish somewhere.

Not only did he receive 3 stars, 247 has him as our 3rd best recruit all time.

Also, a little nugget I found on Twitter:

Daniel Moyer Jr. 3 star RB from NC was here this weekend on an official visit for Liberty Track & Field team. I thought it was a done deal that we would get him but now seeing this it is just a matter of time before he commits.

Add another 3 star to the cupboard that is overflowing with talent.
