I posted most of my positive game thoughts last night. This post is mainly random observations and suggestions:
One of the highlights of the entire night was the majority of the students booing Jerry when he was introduced followed by him just looking totally silly trying to “lead” the band.

I thought the pregame atmosphere was stale at best. Unless my wife and I both totally missed it, there was no intro video before the team ran out. It was just a forced LU chant from the video board then they ran out. That was disappointing.
—
I forgot how different the environment at Liberty games was from other schools. And that’s a good thing! Everything about the entire time in the stadium is positive and energetic. At most schools - especially larger ones - there’s a raucous/edgy atmosphere where everyone is on the verge of arguing or complaining. There are drunk people being obnoxious. The stadium workers are just there. Last night everyone I saw was glad to be there. They were friendly. The game staff was positive and felt like they’d been trained by Chick Fil A. It’s a really great environment that the people of Lynchburg would love if they’d ever come out.

I wish they’d turn the lights off for the entire break between the third and fourth quarter. Right as the students were starting to turn their flashlights on the lights came back on. That could be a really great tradition.

I thought it was weird to have LUPD officers walking up and down the aisles the entire night. That made the fun and friendly environment feel... strange. It’s like they were expecting you to be doing something wrong. Everyone else in the stadium was smiling and they were walking around with super serious faces expecting trouble.

Parking/traffic was great for us. We came off 460, went straight to Doc’s, parked, and were in the stadium within ten minutes. Same when we were leaving.
—
I never realized how steep the second deck on the student side was. That’s like climbing a dang mountain, but I bet it’s an incredible view.
—
AGG’s mom was fun to be sitting behind. She was super into things. There were also a couple Buffalo fans in our section. They were friendly and cheering for their team in a fun way, not obnoxious.
—
I missed halftime, but the band was really good during the game. I had low expectations for them and they were really entertaining. I know they’re mic’d, but moving them to the end zone was a really great move.
—
I was never bored. From a game production standpoint, they did a good job mixing together PA music with the band with everything else. I would’ve liked a few more replays but with as fast as our offense plays, I get how hard that can be.
—
I’m sure other things will pop up during the week, but those are the things my wife and I talked about on the drive home today.
