Dino Babers is 1-4 when he coaches against the team's first FBS team on the schedule. The only win came last year at WMU 55-42. Oh, and it was 41-35 late with a 1:56 left in the third quarter.

We are FBS and I firmly believe our offensive fire-power and coaching are better than WMU last year. Also as it has been noted, NO ERIC DUNGEY. Against WMU last year he threw for 184 and 2 TD's and ran for a TD and 200 yards!!! Devito is not even close to the runner that Dungey was.

5 more days fellas till I take a victory drink of orange juice 8)
And Eric Dungey is nowhere near the passer Tommy is. Tommy is a former 4 star elite 11 QB with one of the biggest arms in CFB, he can flat out sling it. Led us to a comeback win over UNC last season then got thrown into the fire against Notre Dame.. he’s much better than his 4tds 3ints from last season show obviously, his passing ability will open up the run game for our stable of running backs Moe Neal, Abdul Adams (OU Transfer), and Jarveon Howard.. I expect it to be close through the second quarter but over the course of the game our depth and talent will take over, I said over on our board, 45-14 Syracuse. Like I said in a previous post, good luck the rest of the year

Went to Auburn game last year. 53-0 beatdown. Game was not near as close as the score indicates. You guys almost beat Clemson and Clemson beatdown Bama in Championship game. So, 45-14? Where did you lose all your confidence?

45-14 us, as in Syracuse winning, confidence at an all time high sir

In Freeze's presser he was touting the strength of their D line while the strength of our O line is has yet to be built. All the more reason for the quick hitting run and short passing game—blocks don’t have to be held long for success. There are many coaches out there who are stubborn (or arrogant) and refuse to adjust. Pounding square pegs into round holes damages the holes AND the pegs—it’s a recipe for a big mess. We’ll see how adaptive and wily the new coaching staff is right from the jump. :football

I don't think that Syracuse is going to treat us like Auburn did. With all due respect to our Orange fan friends on here, Syracuse is not on that level. I still see us losing this weekend (though I would be quite pleasantly surprised if I turn on ESPN while doing the dishes and find us close if not leading by the time I get home from the radio station), I think Syracuse is a third-tier P5 who isn't 53-0 better than Liberty

It hit me today that Saturday will be the first home opener that I haven’t attended since 2012. From either being an employee or student every fall since 2013, it will be weird not being in Williams Stadium for this historic matchup.

However, I’m excited to start this new chapter that many of you already have — being a Flames fan watching from outside of Lynchburg and checking the forums during the week. I believe this will be a special year.

I’m hoping for an 11-1 year (or 12-1 with a bowl win) (#GoHoos)

Class of 20Something wrote: August 7th, 2019, 11:02 pm Liberty is one of 18 G5 schools hosting a P5 this season. None represent the SunBelt nor the MAC.

Liberty is not in the Group of Five. The Group of Five consists of teams in the Sun Belt, MAC, Conference USA, AAC and Mountain West conferences.

A distinction without a practical difference.

I am also fairly certain Freeze has said that his goal is to build Liberty into one of the top G5 schools in the nation.

I think there is a practical difference. The practical difference is that the highest ranked champion of a G5 conference is guaranteed a NY6 bowl game.

Welcome to life as an independent.

We are gonna get really close to a sell out. I saw a facebook post in the last 30 minutes that said there are now limited tickets instead of the 300 mentioned. I could have read it wrong, but it looks like the rest of the tickets are going quick and I expect walk-ups tomorrow to get the remaining.

By the way, if you guys have been following twitter at all leading up to the game then you have seen a Syracuse fan with the twitter handle: #SmashLiberty. I really want us to win or keep it within 14 points to shut this cat up. It's one thing to talk smack but the crap spewing from his mouth has been straight vile at times. (Rant over).

By the way, Scott Van Pelt on his show just took us to cover the spread.

QB Competition

Looks like it's Vasko's job to lose.
