Last year three 4 stars: Austin Lewis, Henry Chibueze, Hunter Goetz & Troy Henderson.

This year SO FAR: Johnathan Bennett, Brayden Monday, CJ Yarbrough & Malik Caper.

This class is shaping up very nicely. It will be interesting to see if juco's are as highly valued to Hugh as they were to Gill during this transition.

Also, I looked at the last two QB's that Freeze coached at Ole Miss: Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly.
- Both went JUCO route after leaving their first programs.
- Both were 60% in completions and both got better at not turning the ball over as their careers progressed.
- Bo was a 3 star
- Chad was a 4 star.

If a graduate transfer or a juco qb comes in due to Freeze track record then Buckshot as starter may be shot down.

Buckshot is exactly what Hugh wants. They may bring in some competition but it’s Buckshot’s job.

I agree. I think a lot of players are going to tighten up their off season preparations this year.

As mentioned in another thread, the QB has to be a threat to run in Coach Freeze’s offense. Bo Wallace and Chad Kelly were both capable runners. BC moves pretty well on designed rollouts, but he seems hesitant to tuck and run even when first downs were there for the taking. Maybe that was because he was told not to?

Will be interesting to see how things play out in the spring. BC has been solid for us but has really struggled of late. Hoping he returns to form soon.

Anyway, there are a number of compelling dual threat QBs out there, both JUCO and grad transfers. Kolar from Okie State looks particularly compelling. 6’6” with a gun and extremely good feet.

Dude no. Like all of this is inaccurate. Liberty has never signed a 4 star. The only 4 star we have had in team history was the RB from UVA that transferred here and didn’t really play. Bennett and everyone else you mentioned is a 3 star. As far as a Buckshot, the dude just had a significant leap up in competition. Last time I checked Troy, NM State, NM, UVA, Auburn and others are not on same playing field as Charleston southern, Kennesaw State, Monmouth and other Big South teams. Bennett is the QB of the future but this is buckshots team. He will learn a lot under Freeze, both will. I’m hoping they let Bennett play the minimum 4 games next year as a redshirt to get some reps in game in garbage time.

Realistically how many more guys are we in on? I would love to get that Harris kid, but doesn’t look like we will. I’m sure Freeze will do his due dilligiance and reach out to his normal high school coaches he is familiar with when he was recruiting at Ole Miss to see if he can flop some guys for potential playing time.

I do wonder if there are any scholarships that he wouldn't honor.

Like stated previously the only one I see in danger is the kicker.

I wasn't just talking offers. Would he trim from HCTGs 65>83 so he could get a larger class this year?

As for BC, he wasn't same QB late in season as he was earlier. I not know why
Maybe undisclosed injury, change in play calling or something else. The deep ball basically disappeared.

Anyone know his yardage totals last 6 games compared to first 6.

They were way bigger but he also had two P5 teams and a three game road trip.

Unless there is more attrition, we really don´t have many more scholarships. I´d love to land Mason Vega and Manny Logan-Green. After that, maybe Freeze and his new staff can bring in a surprise or 2, and I think we are good.

Is that accounting for McConnell and Best?

Yes. While I am not 100% sure as to whether a couple on the roster have scholarships or not, the number of returners with eligilibity looks to be in the neighborhood of 70.

Where are we at with commits now, 8?

Ahh I forgot the JUCOs. Still enough room to make a splash though. I absolutely believe he can pull players that HCTG couldn't. Wrapping the class up with four more 3 :star players would be a huge change in pace for us.

QB Competition

We have some strong points (not many) but overall […]

Bowling Green

We need to play more physical. Lost that with JSU […]

Charlie Kirk

But all the comments are that he wasn't a leftist.[…]

The poor guy didn’t make it very long. :)
