He fits every single check mark for LU. Big name. Big Personality. Head Coaching experience NFL HoF to add flavor. Yes I say YES. If LU wants to make a big splash THIS would do it.

I have heard from a few in the coaching community that think Huge Freeze is the guy who will get the LU job. No inside LU information, all from outsiders. Hope we hear soon.

If it's Freeze, I'll literally be ashamed of Liberty. I've had 1/2 dozen text today from people that can't point out Lynchburg on a map making fun of me (and thus Liberty) for even talking to Freeze. I really don't think Liberty has any clue the reputation he has in the SEC world. Southern states we are trying to recruit in and pull students from. Bad, bad idea. We're giving up our reputation to hire someone that is going down as the biggest cheater (not just on his wife but in football) since SMU. There's a reason the SEC wouldn't allow Alabama to hire him as an off the field coach last year.

There is a reason SEC would not let him go to Alabama, but it isn't anything you have posted.

For those who can't find Lynchburg on the map, they should visit the city and LU. Our football facilities are better than many P5 schools and most other schools.

We do have great facilities. I've had the honor of touring them. We have a HUGE future but part of that future will suffer if we stray away from our principles. There's a reason the wealthiest alumni in the history of Mississippi State (Arthur Williams) gave his money to Liberty and not State. It wasn't because of a history of success on the field. It's because he believed in the mission of the school. I want to be successful in football, I desperately want that, but a Freeze hiring would destroy the Liberty "brand" and just enforce what people (wrongfully) assume. That is, we're just another hypocritical Christian school. That thought kills me because I know the real Liberty but unfortunately most others don't and this will be all they have to judge us on.
