There's just one thing folks are forgetting.....you are assuming any of these schools would offer a position to Gill. I don't think he's a "hot commodity" as far as coaching goes.

I think you might be underestimating some of his appeal. Certainly you won’t have Barkley pushing for Auburn. K State MIGHT be a reach but other schools like show interest. Just look at the record

Gill loves LU and so I don't see him leaving for any low level FBS school. I hope I am wrong though...maybe LU can kind of hint at him that he should probably look for another head coaching gig so it works out for both sides.

I still believe Turner Gill will be our coach next year.

He has some appeal, no doubt. I think in the context of his tenure....his record is mediocre at best. I think he's a quality model and a good recruiter so sure, there might be someone looking for that. I just don't think it'll be necessarily a "step up" from LU, which it would have to be to draw him away. Serious question: Where has he shown his skills set outside of the two I already mentioned? Offense? Defense? Developing talent? Where has his trade craft really stood out and been sustained over the past seven years?

You would think so, but when it comes to making an effort to field a top football team I think it’s obvious that the powers that be don’t really care. They talk the talk, but they obviously don’t walk the walk.
