When discussing attitude/discipline problems, there are two sides of the coin. You have to understand these guys are still young and while other schools may point fingers at us for taking them in, they do deserve a second chance. While the reason they are coming here may be athletic, the oppurtunity to disciple a young man is a chance you may have to take.

I know it's a point that gets lost from time to time but the point of this university is still to provide everyone an oppurtunity to gain a Christian education while getting the chance to hear the gospel, maybe for the first and only times.

chris johnson did not even play last year for UVA. he was an academic casualty. as far as vince redd, he has really adapted well to LU, and my reports say he is doing just fine. let's trust coach rocco on these guys!

FWIW, Danny said Vince is doing fine academically and that there has been no issue with him since he's transferred here.

No real connection other than he prepped after high school down in Chatam, VA at Hargrave military Academy..I have kept a eye on this kid since his Senior year in high school at the time, was hoping Tech could land him. my old high school coach Robert Prunty coaches Hargraves team now so i go to quite a few of the games when i can, the kid is probably most comparable to Bruce Smith. now i'm not saying he'll be as good as Bruce was by anymeans but he's got that kinda potential, think the kids had some issues tho esp with qualifying and a few off field problems if i remember correctly. If he ends up at Liberty I can honestly say the defense will be a completely different level than any other in the big south. Altho it's a risk i doubt we really need to take

Funny, because of the arcane hair rule in the Way, it seems that to grow ones hair out, one has to be a Liberty Graduate first a la Penrod:

i hear that the safety that we were talking about, from UVA is going to be here this summer. he was the kid that played soccor for UVA aswell if im not mistaken. i forgot his name but he's the one who battled cancer and came back to played
