My son, who has worked for the team for more than four years in various roles, says the coaches work hard to put in good game plans. He says what most fans blame on coaching is, in fact, poor discipline on the part of the players. Just putting it out there for consideration!

There has been ONE constant in the past seven years of inconsistent play and poor performance.....that is not the players. We have had the talent and should develop our plans based on those strengths. I believe we do well the first game due to no one seeing recent game play to reference for preparation, then we play one game and get well scouted. Not hard to plan against a same ole same ole offense after their first appearance.

You never know. If we score on 5 or 6 straight possessions in the 2nd half like we did with ODU and our D plays well enough and is bailed out by penalties again we could still pull this off. So difficult to hold on to hope with TG though.

Balls down field are not working. Where are all the balls to the flat that worked so well last week.

I actually think we abandoned the run too soon. Only behind by 7-14 and we were moving the ball well on the ground.
In addition to moving the ball, we could have kept Army from more time of possession. Good thing Army is shooting themselves in the fott, or we would be down by 30+.
Coaches laid a big turd in the first half. Poor decision making, several times.

The first drive here in the 2nd is crucial. If army drives down our throats and goes up 24-0 that will be too deflating for us to overcome.

Defense hasn't played well at all. Giving up a 8 play 81 yard drive is very poor. On the positive side, they are better than I expected to see. At least they look like they have seen the TO before, they are just unable to execute thus far. We are getting out-played physically on the front line.

Yeah, you would think they would have a game plan together before the game. I am sure they did, it just wasn't a good one. Back to bidness as usual.

I think we are best when using the passing game as an extension of the running game early. That eventually leads to down field pass later in the game.
