Also ESPN could potentially air any home games in ESPN, ESPN 2 or ESPNU. I don't imagine that will happen this season but it is nice that is an option.

He’s known in the LCA circles. I was told there was something between him and Jeff which is why we never used him before.

My opinion is our best play by play guy is doing sideline reporting on radio.

It means that we (fans) don't have to worry about MASN or some other regional network coming in to get a game.

It also means there won’t be a local tv option.

Everything will be on ESPN3 with the possibility of games being moved to the tv networks. While that's unlikely now, if it were to happen 1-2 times in the next couple years, it'd be huge. It could also mean they'd ask up to move a game to a Thursday or Friday in the future in return for tv coverage.

2 ROKU TV’s, IPad and main cable TV all set up for kickoff Saturday...ESPN 3 and LFSN have been great for out of state coverage, think I only miss one game a season or so last few. ESPN + activated on all streaming devices. Excited to see stadium on TV Saturday !!!

Seems like reduced coverage - no TV (unless ESPN decides to put on a game - which I guess they always could have done except for big south complications which we no longer have?).

Online is good because it’s everywhere and people who want to watch can find it. Most can (but don’t) connect it to their TVs for bigger picture.

However, for increased exposure to the program and university, seems like a step back. Limited.

TV Upgrade: not so much

Football Program Upgrade: definitely (stadium, scholarships, opponents, etc)

In this new FBS era, winning is everything. Win and they will come (including TV). Lose and, well, ...

The ESPN app is pretty widely used on smart TVs and roku/apple TV type devices. Much more widely available then viewing the games on MASN or other regional sports networks.

The same thing can happen on an app as viewers scan the listing for any game to see. What this deal does is guarantee where the home games will be broadcast.

Before, as a member of a conference, our TV rights were not entirely our own. Now they are, and the biggest sports production company in the land ponied up for those rights. Compare to the deals of others listed in the article. What ESPN did is indicative of the brand value above several of those others. It recognizes the nationality of it.

Ahhhhhh yeah, I can see that. I view all of my TV watching via my roku so it is easy to forget that many people still have traditional cable despite the vast numbers cutting the cord.
