I would take Thierrien "Bud" Davis at WR, boy would we be able to spread some teams out with 4 wide... This offense has the chance to be very, very, very good!!!

With Bud, we would be following the path of Vince in giving a player Coach Rocco knows well another chance after making some major missteps. So far by all indications, the Vince case has proven a success with him remaining in school. Hopefully whether Bud makes it onto campus or not, he gets his house in order.

Pinigis, an offensive tackle, stands 6-8 and weighs 295 pounds. Redd is a 6-6, 275-pound outside linebacker in Liberty's 3-4 defense.

"It's a shame I couldn't find bigger guys to come down here and play I-AA football," Rocco said.

I believe all three of these Wahoos who allegedly are looking at coming to LU would have just one year of eligibility remaining. And even thought David was not enrolled in school anywhere this past fall, he would certainly be an impact player on the field. The big question would be whether he's ready to succumb to the Liberty Way. I hope he is willing and able.

Guys, there is no way he's 110. I dont think that's possible being 5'11". That's like what a 5'3" girl weighs. And a good looking one. Not a fat one.

OK, we have firmly established I had a typo in my previous post. Can we move along now?

According to the guys ont he JMU board, Catterton trasferred to JMU and then quit the team allegedly because he couldn't crack their lineup. But you can take that statement with a big grain of salt. If Coach Rocco thinks he can help us then he would know best as his position coach up in C-Ville.

I'm guessing these guys would be the ones that we have been hearing may be transferring this summer if they come at all.

Rocco Announces Three New Players For Spring Semester

January 23, 2007
Lynchburg, Va.
Liberty University Head Football Coach Danny Rocco has announced that former Virginia offensive lineman Marshal Ausberry and Virginia Tech safety Kent Hicks have transferred to Liberty for the spring semester. Alfonso Bailey, who signed with the team last year, has also joined the program.

Ausberry (6-5, 330, OL, Sr.) comes to Liberty after spending the last four seasons with the Cavaliers. The Springfield, Va., native will have one year of eligibility left with the Flames as he begins work on his master’s degree.

Ausberry has played for Virginia for the last three years. He started all but one game in 2005 at right guard and served as a reserve during this most recent season in Charlottesville.

Hicks (6-2, 210, DB, Jr.) joins the Flames’ roster after sitting out this past season after leaving Virginia Tech earlier in the year. Hicks has two years of eligibility left with the Flames.

Hicks is a native of Culpepper, Va., where he was a three-time letterwinner at Culpepper High School. He finished his senior season with 109 tackles defensively and recorded 291 yards rushing and 505 yards receiving yards on the offensive side of the ball.

Hicks recorded 18 career interceptions and was named a SuperPrep All-American. He was considered the fifth-best player in the state of the Virginia and 19th-best defensive back in the nation at the end of his senior campaign.

Bailey (5-10, 180, DB, Fr.) sat out last year due to academic reasons. The native of Fort Myers, Fla., was a four-year starter at Mariner High School where he finished his prep career with nearly 500 career tackles. A three-time all-conference selection, Bailey was named Defensive Player of the Year as a sophomore and a senior as he led the area with 150 tackles as a sophomore and 140 as a senior.

All three players will be eligible to join the Flames’ roster for spring practice which begins on March 23 and concludes with Liberty’s annual spring game on April 21.

Rocco certainly left the door open for others to come into the program ... it just won't happen right now. It can't, actually. They have to be enrolled at the start of the semester. That doens't take into account players who are unhappy after spring practice and enroll during the summer, etc., etc.

See here is where i am confused i guess.....Since we have a DLP program....couldn't someone technically still come( in the near future) here do 12 credits of DLP and that count towards this semester. I hate to open a can of worms but, i refer to this as the "phil ward rule". Technically they are "enrolled" this semester and would then take a miniumum load of credits. Just a thought if someone does decide to leave late and join our team.

That is friggen nuts. A DB with over 500 career tackles in 4 seasons? I understand the High School game is more run-oriented but good gracious. That's a lot of tackles for a DB.
