Oh I know I look silly, remember I have to see me in the mirror everyday. I did re read your post and you only mentioned the multiple one year deals after saying he would have to get a one year deal only after winning several more BSC titles.
And just because you disagree with me makes anyone either inferior or me superior in intellect. (Unless you are SCAR, he is truly a mental GIANT, not so much SMOOTH ) Perhaps there are some unresolved issues of acceptance and belonging that you need to address? Dunton's future is really in the hands of the AD and the Chancellor.

The preseason consensous outlook for this team was to finish somewhere between fourth or fifth in the conference. That's probally where this team will finish, however, if LU gets hot down the stretch, there is still a chance that they could grab the 3 or even the 2 seed.

The expectations of those whom Dunton is answerable to are unknown, however, if their expectations are anywhere near the consensous of the big south coaching poll or the major publications, then it is quite possible that LU's administrator's are not nearly as impatient as some on this board would have them to be.

Granted, as fans, it's only fun when ya win, and most of us on this board were expecting a higher level of success at this stage of the season. And, like it or not, Dunton's fate will certainly not be determined on a message board.

My sense is that if this team finishes somewhere near the expectations of the AD and the Chancellor, and if the outlook is good in terms of retaining key players and new recruits, then he stays on and is given the opportunity to after another big south title next season, and if we retain Brew, Bannister, Smith, Mclean, Winters, the 7'1 Nigerian, the kid from Hargrave, Holland, Jenkins, ect.--then we may very well be the consensous preseason pick to win the big south title next season, especially with Martin and Bradshaw graduating from WU, and if Marshall wins in the NCAA's, he may move on as well.

So, if the outlook going into next season is promising, then I'm inclined to think that he stays.

Here's the bottom line.

Dunton has proven that he can rebuild a team because he did it back in '04; Dunton has proven that he can win the Big South tournament because he did it back in '04.

If our adminstration feels that the pieces that we have coming in will fit together and LU looks like a real contender for the Big South title next season, then Dunton stays. For all we know, that may have been the administrative perspective all along.

I know it's a long shot, but years ago Coach RICK REEVES was interviewed at halftime of a game and expressed interest in returning to LU to coach the MEN. For those of you who don't know, Reeves was our women's coach before Coach Green and had tremendous suceess here and loved Liberty. His only problem was that his team was so successful that it made the men's team look bad in comparison.

Coach Reeves is very happy at GW with our former AD Chuck Burch, he isn't going any where any time soon.
