honestly, i will not be worried about you guys any this season. it was very surprising to watch the lost. once again, the heels are strong. i wont upfront count it a loss for the dukies, but light blue isnt looking good to any team right now. as a devil, i wont surrender, but i'm not clueless.

I can't imagine any team getting to the final 4 from the ACC this year....but you never can tell...march is still a long way off

well...the pac 10 looks to be pretty good...

Big East.....Possibly Pitt, no one else even close in the final four
SEC......Florida will
Pac 10.....maybe UCLA or Oregon
ACC.....UNC the only team with a chance, and that is if they play well
Big 10.....Wisconsin could be in it.....Ohio St is so overrated and overhyped, but could do it if Oden dominates
Big 12.....Oklahoma St is it, and they wont be able to get there
C-USA....I hope you're joking

Final Four pick: Florida, UCLA, Wisconsin, UNC

it is too early to say....and as shocking as it is i don't think duke will make it....

UNC has the best shot to make it to the final 4 from the ACC, but i don;t see that happening

but like i said march is a long way off, anything can happen

They have McRoberts....some thought to be an All-American #1 PF in high school 5 star recruit
Paulus, Dickie V compared him to Bobby Hurley and we rated #1 PG in high school 5 star recruit
Demarcus Nelson, a decent slasher for Duke #5 shooting guard coming in 4 star recruit
David McClure, ranked as the 13th best power forward when he came in to Durham 4 star recruit
Martynas Pocius #16 shooting guard 4 star recruit
Lance Thomas, #4 in class of 2006 PF....doesn't see much time 5 star recruit
Gerald Henderson, #5 SF on one of the top High School teams in the country, 5 star recruit
Jon Scheyer, #3 SG in the country. Probably playing the best of all the freshmen 5 star recruit
Brian Zoubek, #7 C in the country. 7'1 too..... 4 star recruit

Because of lack of playing time they lost...
Eric Boateng..#3 C in 2005 and a 5 star recruit
Jamal Boykin, a PF from California 4 star recruit

I am just wondering when Coach K has another surgery to get out of coaching a team that isn't doing so well
first, i had family and friends inside the K family that can testify that K actually had a back problem, that actually needed to be taken care of when it was taken care of. had K coached that team, they would of done just fine. no championship team or anything, but that is the LAMEST excuse i've ever heard (K had a bad team so he decided to not coach it). let me give you a nice player to player breakdown since it's apparent you're having a difficult time comprehending why the "next year excuse" is legit.

Paulus - flashy, not playing as a 5 star recruit right now. maybe in the future, maybe not. he's the leader of the team...when he plays well (i'd say contributing 10 or more points, we can win).
Nelson - plays well just about every game. no excuses for him, he's a key player. should be a 4 star recruit.
McClure - just now actually getting some significant amount of PT... and HEY, he's doing great. excellent rebounder, should have been playing all along... could have been playing a big role in winning games.
Pocius - in the doghouse for some reason, is similar to mcClure... could be helping to win games, but K won't play him.
Thomas - plays young - very young - needs to play until he fouls out, because he's a good flashy player... but K just now starting to play him.
Henderson - freakin good, needs to play more RIGHT NOW... K just now starting to play him more.
Scheyer - good - playing well - no excuse for him.
Zou - too young, makes too many mistakes, K making right decision to not play him.

In summary, changes need to be made this year, and you're right, they have a lot of good players, but we found out early that either the chemistry is not good, or the coaches aren't getting it done. we WILL wait till next year, when we will be A LOT better.

you simply asked why dukies are giving the "next year excuse."

i explained why it is legit for us to "wait till next year." if your arguement is that duke is overrated, then you're not arguing with me... i agree.

however, that last comment in reference to duke's terrible season and K's surgery was not necessary.

The argument was that there is no reason for the "wait next year"...........The simply overrated remark is just out of frustrations b/c people believe that College Basketball is over when Dook is not on top....also, they were in the top 10

I enjoy ripping Duke when there good. It's harder to hate them when they are mediocre. Still, I would love to see them finish the league at .500 or worse.

MAYBE...just maybe...but i really don't think so.

why don't you support whoever you pull for whether they're good or bad, and just admit when duke earned a win or loss.

...sounds pretty reasonable to me?

native virginians: Did the people in this state care about VPI before they got a pretty good football team? It seems like UVA would be the statewide home team except VT is normally better and I know how people are.

You are right LUConn, when I was a young and UVA was consistently in the top 20 in football (in the early to mid 90s) there wasn't much threat from Va Tech fans because they had nothing to say. Then came Mike Vick, and everything changed. They were a legitimate top 10 team, and UVa went through a coaching change, and had a couple down years. The rest is history. I'm sure alot of people who were in the middle went to Va Tech as fans since they had a good football team.

Yeah, that bandwagon got heavy fast.

jc is right on. during the sampson era, you could never find a tech fan. when george welsh came on at UVA and turned the football program around it seemed there were more UVA fans. then when vick got VT to the national championship it turned and has not been the same ever since. the big thing is that most tech fans are tech "football fans" they could care less about basketball. with the two wins over carolina and duke there are some that are jumping on the total VT wagon, but im sure that will change since the loss to LAST place FSU.

Yes, but when/if they beat UVa this year they will be right back on the bandwagon. The same thing will happen if they make the dance and UVa doesn't. My dad has always said that VaTech fans feel inferior to UVa fans because UVa grads will go on to make something of themselves. While Va Tech grads are country bumpkins.

I'm not saying that is true, but that is how the two perceive themselves to be. Therefore, Va Tech feels inferior to UVa and anything they can beat UVa at they have to rub it in their faces.

What I truly want to say to that is well outside the Liberty Way and would reflect poorly on LU...therefore, all I'm going to say is that I do not have an inferiority complex.
