Time to move on now. Instead of Art, which is clearly a joke, has anyone mentioned Kendall?
Fortunately, we have only two home games left so hopefully we'll meet the attendance requirements (average 15,000 actual or paid attendance). I wonder how serious the NCAA is about that requirement since I know Coastal Carolina couldn't possibly be meeting the attendance requirements with a stadium that holds only 9,000 people. I know they have expansion plans but that doesn't help them now, and they're in their first full year as an FBS team.
Coastal already did phase one 15k. Phase two starts at the end of the season 21k.
I wasn't aware that they'd completed Phase One. I stand corrected!

I have got to imagine there is something going on behind the scenes in terms of offensive philosophy. It's apparent that when Buck is given a big play book LU can score in bunches. He's got one of if not the best receiver ever at LU to throw to. I wonder what the discussions are like. Who is not letting him loose? Who is trying to establish a run with a shaky O Line? That's a conversation I'd be interested in hearing

Coastal's attendance at their last home game was 15,991.

Thank you for that information - I stand corrected again!

We had 2 weeks to prepare the defense to stop the run. KSU gained 498 yards running the ball. What did we do the past 2 weeks ?

Here's a sobering thought:

Baylor: 0-6
Morehead State: 2-5
Indiana State: 0-6

The teams Liberty has beaten have a combined 2-17 record.

Jacksonville State: 5-1
St. Francis: 4-2
Kennesaw State: 5-1

The teams that beat us have a combined record of 14-4.

Who'd have thought back in July that our "good win" so far would have been Morehead State?

My friend, from marching band, posted this last night:

“One of the things I am most proud of in my life is having been a part of The Spirit of the Mountain at Liberty University. Through SOTM, I gained a love and a respect for my school that I probably wouldn’t have otherwise. I made friends and memories that will last a lifetime. I was a part of something. And most importantly, I was using my talent for Christ. As band members, we put in long hours and hard work. There’s so much that goes into being a member of SOTM, including traveling to other schools and getting cussed at and things thrown at you. And not because you’re in the marching band (well maybe partly) but because you’re in a CHRISTIAN marching band.
To have this same kind of disrespect shown to the SOTM at home is just disgusting. I am absolutely shocked that the president of Liberty University was a part of this. You don’t get on the field, in the middle of formations during a half-time show. You don’t play a student’s instrument EVER, but most especially during a half-time show and you DON’T tell students, who attend the university you are a head coach for and who are also fellow Christians, to get the f$&@ off your field. Speaking from a Christian perspective, it’s not yours anyway, it’s God’s. You’re just supposed to be looking after it.
I do expect a public apology to the band. Because this is ridiculous. No wonder a lot of people don’t take Liberty or Jerry or Christians seriously if this is how we treat each other.
SOTM, just remember that you have a higher calling.

Jr and Rashad we're getting plowed over meandering through the halftime show. It was clearly disrespectful. We thought the same as it was happening. Im tired of Jr acting like a celebrity.

Is this person saying Gill said that?
I'm pretty sure JR playing drums was arranged ahead of time but wasn't there so don't know.
Why would anyone throw stuff at the Band? It's not like they do anything controversial

Wait? What? Details. Were they trying to march in formation etc?

Jr. & Rashad just walked from the corner of the end zone through the band as they were performing.
At first I thought the band was going to somehow incorporate them into the show, but it quickly became clear that Jr was just leading Rashad through the crowd. Apparently just looking to have a little fun & show of.
The band members had no idea what was happening, especially when the guys were coming up behind them.

It got really crazy with about 5 mins left in halftime when the players came out of the locker room. KSU players were surprised & confused, but WAY more respectful than our team.
The players were trying to warm up & were just running through the band. It appeared they were trying to push them off the field in the middle of a song.

It was an absolute cluster.

I had an old friend with me at the game & he was just dumbfounded by the whole spectacle. He was trying to be nice about things, but he’d clearly never seen a halftime like it.

Yet another black eye by doing things the “Liberty way”. I’m hoping for an explanation & apologies, but not holding my breath for either.

So everything just kind of fell apart last night. Not just the football team.

Seems about right.

People wonder why I can't ever give Jerry Jr the benefit of the doubt.

Out of curiosity it was a football player that told the band to get the f off the field. Not. JR, right?

I expect that both people, who actually watch the band at half time, will get over it. Haven't missed a home game in donkey's years, never watched the band yet. BORING No excuse for the F bomb though.

I think the band is boring too but it doesn't justify being disrespectful.

The, "they will get over it" attitude by many in the LU bubble has gotten old.

Before my father passed away, and without knowing anyone in the band, their halftime show was his favorite part of game day. Jon can confirm.

Sounds like JR was doing what he was doing because he could it’s his school

The rest sounds like a Game Ops issue, which is odd. They should have had everything scripted so players aren’t running onto the field. I would suspect that pushing the car out and back at halftime took a lot more time than anticipated. Add that to a Homecoming band performance and you are going to run out of time. The simple solution would have been to drive the car on and off the field thus saving a couple of minutes. BUT if the Power That Be wanted it pushed and ‘unveiled ‘ that’s not a hill I would die on.

Yeah, par for the course.
Just feel bad for the parents who came down to see their kids, not JR, perform

Good effort

I wonder if Jerry has Gill, Dailey and Wimberly in the LU Boardroom flanked by IM and Trey. He has Gill as the Project Leader and one of them is going to hear ‘You’re Fired’ *

I'm lost by that. "To God be the Glory" Gill couldn't possibly have said that. Jr on the other hand...I've heard stories about him having an unfiltered mouth so I wouldn't put it past him on saying that.

Flanked by IM and Trey....

The fact that isn't so hard to believe makes it even harder to read.

Wonder how the sex brothel in Miami is doing these days for Trey's real estate portfolio...

Or he brings in the whole coaching staff and says ‘Turner, pick two people to come back’. You totally can see a Liberty Football Apprentice scenario can’t you?
