I also neglected "dweebs", "freaks" and "heads". It's been too long.

Ive got my DVR set to record the entire season here at home, and I will be watching it in the dorm room (especially after basketball games)

OK, so we just found a reason to go check us out some debate. So...any references to who might be the most masterful in debate?

Haize, I can not believe you recognize ML 2 as an actual movie. I believe it is ranked in the same catagory as Caddyshack 2. Anyway, which guy was shot was in the movie?

I have to say that in the context of the last five seasons, this has the potential to be the best one yet. And I thought last season couldn't be topped. This is a Jack Bauer we haven't seen before. He's at his wit's end; he's not all there, but he's still more with it than just about everyone else.

Here's hoping the man finally gets a nap in Season 7.

Oh, and anyone else happy to see Milo back? Anyone a little shocked that he and Chloe were a thing?

It was a little eerie to see the nuke cloud...and digesting the passive-aggressive nature of the fallout of the weapon. Obviously the immediate impact was "aggressive"; but the knowledge of the fallout effects from the ancillary characters perspective in the general vicinity of the centerpoint was poignant--that passive-aggressive, almost sadistic nature, of the scenario as one knows what is likely coming...similar to the certain "biological" situations from previous seasons.

I don't think anyone expected the nuke to be set off. I was watching it with some friends and everybody had the same reaction, like "did that really just happen?"

Going to be an interesting season.

Wayne was great in season 5, but I just watched season 3 where Wayne was really into some dirty politics. I don't like him so far this season. I agree.

Libertine wrote:I have never been a diehard '24' fan. I've enjoyed the show but never been all that dedicated to it. This year, however, was the first time I was actually looking forward to catching the new season. I rushed home from dinner w/ friends, dumped little Libber in the bathtub and clicked it on. Fifteen minutes later, I muttered, "Screw this," clicked it off and helped little Libber wash his hair. That was right about the time the show turned into an after-school special w/ the dude from 'Harold and Kumar Go To White Castle'. Between the unbelievably sketchy premise, the prez being Palmer's baby brother (seriously? they thought they could get away with that?), the co-opting of Peter MacNicol (you don't get away with that) and the show's general sense of malaise (a la Vince Carter after signing a contract extension) and I won't be watching it this year. Bring back Marwan's evil twin and you might get me.

Bring on Syler and the Cheerleader!
Yeah, family members hardly ever are elected president. :?

I've caught up and watched all 5 seasons this year. I think the show keeps getting better and the first four episodes of season 6 did not disappoint. The first night was a little heavy on the torture (for one night) but Jack biting the guy, totally took me by suprise. I also liked it when Jack kicked the guy out of subway before he exploded. As for the controversial nuke explosion, that suprised me too, but that's what I like about the show, you never know what's going to happen. Rick Schroeder will take the place of Curtis I believe. Not sure what I think about that. I'm also not crazy about Chloe's ex, they went a little heavy on the office sniping in the first couple episodes. Seems a little over the top. Still a great show.

Here's what I'm wondering: How does Jack and CTU survive with a nuke explosion in LA? They said it kill 100,000 plus. I guess considering LA's population is in the millions that a pretty small kill zone and likely Jack and CTU are outside of it.

I think the bomb exploded in Valencia (or was it Venice). Either way, each of those cities is a bit outside of LA. Not exactly sure where CTU is, but probably safe to assume that it is outside the blast zone.

I tend to agree about Wayne Palmer. Maybe a little bit more than he bargained for? I think he said it best when he was felt it was easy to guide David, but now that he has to make the decisions, it is a little bit harder.

I love that they are bringing back the lead bad guy from season 5. He got off scott free last year, and now I am glad to see him back in the previews. He sure does have a lot of Arab ties???

Good question about the nuke. Mrs Purple asked the same question, but I knew the answer (b/c I listened earlier) They said the bomb had a 1/2 mile blast radius. That is not real far. I told her it was over a 1/2 mile from our cul du sac to the road to put it in perspective. The fallout cloud was also about 5 - 10 miles, which in the grand scheme of things isn't that far. You put that in a urban area however, it becomes more impactful b/c of all the multi story buildings. Having this one blow up in a sparsely populated warehouse complex greatly reduced the kill rate and some of the fall out damage.

Did anyone catch the face of the DAD right as the bomb went off?? He should get an emmy just for that look. Hauting.
I was just trying to get over the fact that Jack just shot Curtis. What the crap??? Did he kill him? They sort of left ya hanging on that one.
The DVD of the first two nites is ALREADY out on DVD, go figure.
Also, Jack's daughter KIM was the porn star on The Girl Next Door (At least that is what SCAR said)
The weasel guy in Palmer's cabinet is up to something
I am not convinced Sayeed is REALLY turning over a new leaf.
I think the Palmer sister's husband is a GONER in prison.
Chloe's new/old boyfriend (the bald one) is my current favorite "new" character.
Still trying to figure out Nadia's role other than eye candy (how YOU doin) this season. She isn't doing anything that Chloe cant do.

The bomb did go off in the warehouse, but didn't the guy get out of the car and walk like less than 5 blocks to get there? I mean he got dropped off in a cul-de-sac so i think that neighborhood was close by.

Jack shooting curtis also was shocking to me.....i couldn't believe it.
I think the weasel in palmer cabinet will get overulled on a major decision at some point since Bill and his wife really can screw with him in needed.
I also love the new british guy or chloe's man.....the more i hear him talk he has the potential for a Hugh Laurie like personality.

Rocket, He walked quite a ways, ok so I re watched the end. And remember 1/2 mile isn't that far. I do think they will have some fall out problems inthat area. But not so much with the blast
