I have spoke about it before in previous posts, when people were guessing/saying that we vetted him for all of 4 days. Not really breaking news. I come here almost every day and like the site, but there are a lot of things speculated on/about that just aren't true. Remember the one that said we were going to cut the athletic budget?
You spoke about LU spending 2 years vetting IM? Huh :dontgetit I don't recall those posts.
Maybe that explains why IM took his eye off the ball at Baylor. He knew he was coming to LU

Speaking of uniforms, is there any word about changes? I would guess any change wouldn't happen until FBS debut. The blue and red color are not the standard school colors in these practice uniforms. Or is this a case of aggressive camera filters?

I only spoke about the length of the vetting process, after he was hired. It was in response to several others saying that we didn't vet him long enough. I am sure you could find them if you want. I am pretty sure IM didn't know he was under any consideration during most of that time. I do not know when we approached him about a possible hire. However, the administration did their due diligence and felt comfortable about their decision, long before it was made public. Frankly I was impressed at how quiet it was handled.
I only go through all of these details and responding to posts on this subject, because I want to make sure my comments are as close to 100% as possible. My integrity is very important to me. I don't really trust rumors unless they can be independently confirmed/verified by at least one more person that has never led me wrong. Otherwise, I remain silent. I hate the taste of crow.

I hope it's not deep blue on dark red. Those numbers are hard to see from the stands. If so at least trim the blue with a white outline.

As for the rest of your post :BS
You would have the Board believe at least as far back as 2014 LU was looking to hire IM? Because by my math, he was hired at LU in 2016, vetting him for at least 2 years, puts it at 2014. Why in the World would IM leave BU in 2014 :dontgetit
LU was able to land IM because he was the most (by far) component Athletic Administrator out there After leaving Baylor in disgrace LU was able to scoop him up if they were willing to eat the bad press, which they were. That process MAYBE took 2 months. Certainly not 2 years

I have been told that the next LU coach will be someone who is presently considered one of the Top 5 coaches in college football. He is currently coaching at a pretty good Power 5 Conference school. I cannot say who, because I would be shot at high noon if I did.

Just cause I'm bored. You're saying one of these guys is coming to LU:

Nick Saban - SEC
Dabo Sweeney - ACC
Urban Meyer - B1G
Chris Peterson - PAC 12
Gary Patterson - Big 12

Or
Jim Harbaugh
Jumbo Fisher
David Shaw
Mike Dantonio
Mike Gundy
So that's a Top 10. Shall we dig deeper?
Bobby Perrino
Gus Malzahn
Dan Mullen
Brian Kelly
Paul Johnson
Mike Leach
Mark Richt
Pat Fitzgerald
Kevin Sumlin
University of Arizona Coach
Or my pick
Eric Taylor

I think you'd be surprised who anyone could hire if they offer $8 to $10 mil / year. We do have quite a bit of lettuce...soooooooo

True. But if LU is going to toss 8-10 million for a head FB coach  Although it would maybe put a couple of those guys on the list

There are several coaches on Purple's list above that have behavior/sportsmanship issues that would prevent them from coaching at LU.

When this "coach" was first mentioned to me by a LU employee, I disagreed. But when he explained it to me, it made sense.

If you figure we are going to back the truck up to the bank and consider anyone in play, I would think the "dream" coach for Liberty would be Dabo Swinney. For the record, Dabo makes 4.55 million/year at Clemson. Until recently Hugh Freeze would have been in the conversation. Not so much now.

For starters you have to believe that ballcoach has a credible source. Which is a stretch. A Top 5 FBS coach leaving their gig to come to Lynchburg? I put up a list of 20 of the top 25.
Sitting on the sidelines I believe you still have
Les Miles
Bob Stoopes
Art Briles

All of those fit the hiring paradigm of LU

I knew that Purple was a Mountaineer and likely a couch burner, but it never occured to me that he also eats roadkill.

FWIW, Saban was half-way out the door at Bama and then Texas didn't offer him what he wanted. Obviously, he's not coming here but I think you would be pleasantly (or not-so pleasantly) surprised at who we can reel in. The coach that I would seriously keep an eye on is Mike Leach. Washington is in store for a great season (possibly 12-0 considering their schedule) and Washington State is in a rebuilding mode. He is essentially the Donald Trump of college football, in terms of his unfiltered press conferences, and I believe liberal-based Washington State, would use a 5-7 or 6-6 season to push him out if Washington makes or gets near to playoffs.

He would work for us because he's very offensively minded and it would keep everyone excited, even if our record was mediocre for the first couple of years.

Of course, none of this matters since Art Briles will be our next head coach.

If "my guy" doesn't get it. then I think Briles will be in the running. I assure you, we will "go big", regardless of who it is.

Yes. That fact being LU was pursuing IM since at least 2014 is :BS

'Your guy' :rofl Dude one of the top 5 on that list is not coming to LU. There is no one in that top 10 who would. So your original post is seeming more preposterous

Just thought I would throw this out there...I can tell you that I have a pretty good source that a previous coach would be very interested if we gave him a call.
