i also have a different job in the mornings elsewhere. It is not bad but there are some things when it comes to athletics that i have several ideas for that can be better professionally but for now i will keep my mouth shut on that one to the AD.

Why would you keep your mouth shut to the AD? In all honesty, I'm confused, Critic. First, you come across like the LCA athletic department is violating some basic moral principles and "not doing things in the right way" and now it's not so bad and they could just be more professional. If you have good ideas about how to do things better, I would encourage you to share them. I still don't really get why you don't like your school but that's becoming a moot point, I suppose.

Personally, aside from LCA atheltics -- which I am for --, I'm completely ambivalent about the school itself. My point was that I don't think that Mr. Critic's position has quite the following that he thinks it does.

thats not the only reason...I worked for Liberty Building Services and cleaned LCA on a regular basis and for the most part couldn't believe the kids that went there. A kid got sent to the principals office for using the F word and this kid just so happen to be there on an athletic scholarship, the principal sent him back to the class without getting into any trouble, when the teacher confronted him about it, he said it was part of his "culture" so it was alright...I could tell stories like this all day long if you want me to...the fact is LCA is draining Liberty of some of its resources because of its basically on LU's campus...I have always been against TRBC and LCA being on the Liberty campus because I think the two should be more separate then they are. But that is Jerry's dream, and so be it...but there is a lot that goes on at that school that gives Virginia public schools good reason not to want to let them into their league....

Thank you, Postman. I obviously won't try to argue your experiences there and -- as I said -- aside from their athletic programs, I am completely ambivalent to the school one way or another. I just wanted to see somebody supply some sort of rationale for why they didn't like LCA and felt the pressing urge to rip on a high school girls' basketball team. You've provided your reasons and, for the sake of this discussion, I'll accept that.

However, the thing that bothers me -- in reference to anywhere -- is this kind of statement:

If there's "a lot that goes on", then specific examples should be readily available. If they aren't, then it's just spreading rumor.

LCA has as much chance of getting into the VHSL as MEDIC did going to the prom NOT wearing elevator shoes!!!

As for LCA athletics, you will find that ALL athletic departments have things that can be improved. As for the girl s basketball team, this is one of the better teams they have had in years. They just didn't recruit half the Lithuanian national team that HC did. The move to get LCA into the VHSL is all about football not about basketball. So when you couch discussion in THAT context, I am not sure where the complaint is. They certainly aren't pushing for it b/c of either basketball team, the golf team or the wrestling team. Probably b/c those teams actually play some VHSL team.

the only problem i have with LCA is this trying to get into the VHSL crap. other than that, NBD to me. but really, who cared about the LCA/Holy Cross girls' game???? except for the person who started the thread! anyway, critic, PM and tell me why you do not like LCA...i know you graduated from there, but im sure you have sound reasoning.

Critic, if you are ripping Rocco which you are then come out and say what you would do differently....I went to LCA for 10 years and I really like what Rocco has done.... Now correct me if I am wrong but you get paid to work the scoreboard for basketball games at LCA (The answer is YES) You volunteer your time on Friday nights during football season. Rocco has made our school a winner in almost every sport, bringing in better coaches and making the schedule more difficult.... So if you got problems with Rocco I would suggest you talk to him. I can give you his extension at LCA his door is always open. If u want things better then doing something about don't sit here and complain about things if you aren't willing to help make them better.
