It was an attempt at being funny and if I wasn't annoyed at the fact that the entire basketball program has covered this up, I would'e laughed. They're being insanely secretive about the whole issue and won't tell the truth about it.

It was funny. Just as funny are the cover-up conspiracies. We can create our own theories. Makes life fun.

You'd better. I hate when people say they'll tell me later and they never do.
Ordinarily, I wouldn't particularly care how the guy hurt his hand but now that it's this big thing, I'm really want to know.

The most reasonable thing that I've heard is that he got ticked off at something or someone and ended up punching something/someone and hurt his hand. I don't know what either of those somethings or someones are and no one in the basketball department will ever acknowledge what actually happened.

My big thing is if he punched someone, he should get in just as much trouble as any other student at LU for punching someone. Coach Dunton prides himself on having a clean team and running a Christ-centered program, and if that's the case, Brew needs to be held accountable just like everyone else at the school.

First of all, I don't really care how and why he hurt is hand. I only care about whether or not he is on the court and at full strength when we're heading down the final stretch.

Secondly, even if jon's hypothetical accessment were true, we'd have to keep in mind that even Jesus turned over a few tables and even threw some money around one time. If a guy on the team expressed some anger in a physical way, who's to say that it could not have been justified?

It could've been justified. I won't deny that. Don't give me some coverup excuse though. If there's a logical reason, then tell me that.

Jon:

They really don't owe us a detailed explanation here. I'm sure that they would rather be focusing on the task at hand which would be winning games in the Big South.

If he wasn't a basketball player, would you expect tons of information about something that happened in his personal life? If it was my son and they started airing every dispute - I would be very upset.

Sorry about that last story...I just spoke to my sources, sources, sources source and they had a friend who had a cousin that said that it wasn't Carpal. My bad. That cousin did have a friend of friend's nephew's aunt that works in a hospital with a guy's brother, who while speaking with his son, overheard a conversation 2 gentleman were having on a phone. (He assumed it was another gentleman - he referred to him as Michael - but hey, there are some girls with that name now - but back to the point). My cousin said that he only could hear one side of the conversation - so this might be a little twisted. This is what he heard - and I'll tell you the truth it makes a lot of sense - I think SuperJon will agree that this could have happened.

Well, Brew was in practice. While they were practicing a wild pack of ravenous wolves escaped from Pet Smart and made there way into shilling. Coach Dunton was chewing on a super sized of beef jerky - the wolves stiffed it and began to charge him. Without hesitation Brew leaped in front of his coach and began punching them all in the head. He startled them and scared them off, he amazing wasn't hurt during that part. In a weird turn of events - Coach Dunton got startled and thought he was biting down on the jerky and it was actually Brew's pinky finger. What was more amazing than Brew not getting his finger bit off was that he actually fought the wolves off one handed.

He had some stitches, but he should be fine.

If he was hurt from some legitimate accident - then there is no story.

If he was hurt from doing something wrong, and was not hurt that badly - he was benched.

If he was hurt from doing something wrong, and was hurt that badly - he was not allowed to dress.

There may be a big story here, but I don't think so, and whatever it is, I have to believe that it's being handled correctly.
Coach has done the right thing when he knew that his actions would be a hindrance/detriment to his record,
which is to say his livelihood. He did it anyway, only to be criticized, but he does what is right.

Is Brew playing tomorrow? If so, this thing is a moot point. No one has said how long he will be out or what exactly he hurt in his hand.

Dunton said he thinks he'll play. He will come off the bench though to spell Smith at the three. Same starting lineup as Tuesday.

Could ole Randy be superstitious? Maybe he thinks his chances of winning are better without Brew in the starting lineup. :)

It he didn't put him in the starting line-up, it would have nothing to do with superstitution

Correct, grm. Read my note from the same story the Dunton contract info was posted in. Randy was already thinking of making lineup changes before Brewington hurt his hand. Doesn't make any sense to have three twos on the floor at the same time.

If he was superstitious, he'd bench Brewington for the rest of the year, since LU is 0-8 when he suits up for the Flames, not just starts.

Also, I talked to Torrell Martin last night, and he said he'd be a game-time decision. He didn't dress for Winthrop's practice and was still wearing the protective boot.

Chris, there was an article in Charlotte's paper saying TMart could be out 4 weeks.

I'd definitely believe it. I'm sure Marshall's told him to say "game-time decision" to keep some mystery in the whole thing. The fact that he didn't dress yesterday was enough of a sign to me that he wasn't going to play.

Could A+B=hurt hand? (with A being a lineup change and B being Brew not in the starting line-up).

He hurt his hand. He was still pretty cautious of it last night as well. There's one main rumor floating around right now (and it doesn't involve him hitting anyone/anything) and it seems completely logical and a completely dumb move on Brew's part. Last night he seemed to have learned his lesson though. He was a spark plug big time.

Without that spark we may have lost by 35.

Will someone please investigate this and give us the REAL cause of his injury? The suspense is driving me crazy.
