(ALGORE= one word, according to Rush Limbaugh)

I don't know- I've always been a skeptic- but this weather is about freaking me out. No way it should be 70 degrees up here in January, which it was yesterday.

In fact, I don't think it has EVER happened- at least not since 1970- not that I remember.

I may have to go rent "An Inconvienient Truth" or whatever that Save-the-earth propaganda film was that "Mr.I-invented-the-Internet" made

This has happened for the last couple years. January will have a week or two that is exceptionally warm as will the beginning of February, and then late February and the month of March are insanely cold, before April comes along and we have the warm/cold weeks again. By May everything is warm normally.

Actually, we had a playoff game the past two years where I had to wear pants and a hoodie because it was cold in the middle of May.

The cold'll be there, just later in the year.

I don't think anyone argues that the global temperatures are rising. The debate comes as to why. Is it man made or is it because of the forces of nature. I am going with forces of nature. Elsewise, how did we have glaciers and greenhouses before the SUV?

good point PH, and if anyone else remembers- Leonard Nemoy (yes, Dr Spock) was doing documentaries in the late 70's about the "impending ice age" and global COOLING was the big fright.

My reaction for the past 10 yrs to all the "warming" hysteria has been that its nothing more than normal climatalogical trends- where you get 10 yrs or so of drought (Dust Bowl, anyone), 10 yrs of floods, 10 yrs of heat, 10 yrs of cold- etc.

I'm just having more trouble telling myself that year after year as I get the opportunity to ski and use my 4 wheel drive less and less. :?

not to try and talk about debate again, but we have a disadvantage that says we are actually entering a global cooling state right now, and its recent as of june, however i dont know how much i believe it. But we also have evidence i do full heartedly believe and thats that the technology has increased over the past 100 years. For all we know 100 years ago a couple farmers went outside, put their hand to the ground and said "eh id say it feels about like 50 degrees out" now we have better technology that says its warmer, and suddenly everyone freaks out and buys an electric car.

I just don't think we have enough historical weather data to positively identify this as a man-made problem. In the 60's and 70's everyone was going nuts over a coming ice age. Now it's global warming.

Meh. I'll just enjoy the extra days out on the motorcycle.

I can tell you from firsthand knowledge that even the big oil companies admit their is climate change. But its how to address it that is the big question of the day.

Meanwhile Colorado's seeing more snow than it has in years. New Mexico and Southern California have seen snow, at least in the forecast. I subscribe to the Global Chaos idea moreso than Global Warming.

If there was once supposedly an ice age, then global warming has occurred for thousands of years with little or no help from humans. That we've caused so much damage in less than 200 years is highly unlikely, and it seems kind of arrogant on our part to claim such a thing. Is the earth that fragile?

I honestly don't care. It's the weather. It can't be predicted correctly 100% of the time. It changes more than Medic changes underwear.

I think we'd all be a little shocked if we knew what those two know about each other.

I don't even know the dwarf's last name. It was a figure of speech.

Boone's got something like 6-7 inches today. And before you make your joke about southerners cancelling school for a dusting, App still had to go to school.

I haven't been outside, or even put pants on for that matter. I'm still sitting in bed.

Its still sunny & 72 here in case you were wondering.

Keep the pictures coming. I love snow ... as long as I don't have th shovel it or tromp around in it once it starts melting and turning to brown sugar-looking mess.
