I'm reminded of my off-season discussion of scheduling. I'm all for playing a winnable fbs game. 2 fbs games and 2 losses and now Gill has to be perfect next week and win or he has no real shot at an at large. Good luck. Could be the beginning of the end with another loss.

Not really. There's no reason we should lose to GWU, PC, Monmouth, or KSU. We take care of business there and we come into CSU on what should be a five game win streak (add RMU before the bye) with a winner take all game for the autobid. We weren't getting an at large this year regardless of who we scheduled.

HCTG didn't say a word about Buckshot in the postgame interview.

What we should do and what we will do may be totally different.

Regardless of Calvert's talent....if he has NO protection and penalties stack up in every series, it does not matter. But he deserves to start next week. He was able to move the team. As for predictions on how we do with GW, Monmouth, RM, and CSU.....I would never discount our ability to refuse to win. SMU and LU tried very hard to lose the game tonight, SMU just got tired of trying and finally gave up. It will be a very long Saturday next week!

Good move by Kevin there. He understands Liberty politics too well to ask a question that could start a controversy.

Gill on QB situation: "I have no idea. We'll look at the tape, we'll evaluate all of that and we'll make a decision sometime next week."

rtb72 and those of you who think next week will be a LONG DAY,

It's like you think we are playing Alabama or Louisville or Ohio State or FSU.

Montana came in last year two weeks removed from beating NDSU and we beat them by 10!

Is JSU a great FCS program and a highly talented team this year? Yes. But they are going on the road to play a good team as well. JSU is beatable and we have proven that we can beat high caliber FCS teams over the last few years.

All I am trying to say is let's not talk of something being a done deal (like us getting blown out by JSU) when we are a week away from the game. If it happens, it happens and I will eat crow all night. But again we don't know what will happen.

A couple things here:

JSU is the second best team we'll play this year. They're the best FCS team we will have played in the ten years I've been following the program. They're the FCS version of the teams you compared them to.

As for Montana, you conveniently left off that they lost the week before us to Cal Poly and also lost to Weber State and Portland State. They were a top 25 team, but they weren't the as good as their ranking at the time. The Coastal team we beat last year wasn't even as good as the Jacksonville State team will be.

We're in for a fight next week. With our injuries piling up, it's not looking positive for next week.

I may have been a tad heated when posting right after the game (which I offer my apologies), but we either find an answer on offense or it is going to be a long year. I appreciate what we are capable of and what we have done in past years....Montana included. I was at the game and it was great. But there are more areas that need tuning up this year. We also have very young players in key positions. We can complete, we could have won tonight. But if we don't put yards behind us instead of in front of us (o line and penalties)...we will not see post season play. Maybe that's what frustrates me most. We could, should, and can.........but we don't!

I can't believe he still watches tape. You'd think he'd go digital

Missed a 30 yd FG. Sounds like LU is either thin or horribly coached on the O Line.
Calvert has shown he is at least equal to Masha and with better upside. I can see giving Masha MAYBE one more half to prove it but that's it. What happened to the run game?

These were posted in the game thread.

And Masha's decisions were better? He made no decisions other than to go to his primary receiver every time.
Nice attempt at changing the subject but I never said Masha's decisions were better. Both of our QB's were awful today.

Seeing as how i I know u dont know, but how do u know that the last INT was on him, as rhat ball placement was on the sideline, and he was also throwing to another freshman in AGG

You not being impressed is you not wanting to be wrong, but it's om mayne you and BJ can chill and have a drink together
To be honest, I'm not even sure what you're saying. Please correct your grammar. Not even trying to be rude...it just doesn't make sense.

On that note, he's not going to miraculously improve because of your personal connection to him. Just stop with the bias please.

I think Mashs has one more half to show he is appreciably better than Bucky. You would want an upperclassman under center because you assume they'd have more poise and polish in the spot light. Mashs hasn't shown that. Bucky has looked just as good and has the upside potential. I have no problem giving Masha a last shot at it.

I think we've had it backwards woth starting Masha and planning to bring Calvert in. Ot woild be much better to go with Calvert the rest of the year and bring in Masha for a couple of series and run some option and bootleg with him or line him up in the slot as a slash type player.
