I suppose it is where you put the priority as to how you weight things. Is his passion and integrity at #1, or is it somewhere in the middle? Certainly, conference record would be weighed more than non-conference. What weight do you give the one championship? Certainly, instead of building on that success, the program appears (as of today), to have regressed. Does the AD sees the turnover as "where there's smoke, there's fire," whereas teams such as baseball at LU have seemed to have survived the turnover that marked Royer's first two years. Does a late-season run save his job, or has the school learned from the mistakes with Karcher's renewal?
In all, I am glad I am not making the decision, but in fairness to LU and Coach Dunton, all things need to be considered by the AD or whomever (JF?) will be making the decision.
