hey I don't have to prove I know more than you, I just DO.
If you truly do know more than the others on this board, about our current QB situation, why do your insecurities lead you to make statements in a tone that proves otherwise?

I agree completely, Jon. If you listen closely to everything that Coach Gill has stated publicly about the QB position it is clear that he intends to get both guys plenty of reps moving forward. Getting the hostile atmosphere of Lane Stadium out of the way, the opportunity for building confidence for both guys goes up exponentially.

And I hear you, forbidden. The problem is Buechele & Hurts are both Texans. That is tough for any Floridian to match even one with the wisdom to choose to play at LU.

I wouldn't go that far. Gill keeps saying he's going to play Calvert to get him experience in case anything happens. He didn't say that at all last year or the year before with Masha playing behind Woodrum.
Good point. And when did Beej become Jewish?

Just proves that you must not watch or pay attention to what other freshman QB's were doing across the country. What do other Freshman QBs across the country have to do with our program? Nothing.

IDC what you say (harsh), SM has to improve on his accuracy - I agree ...., why else would you have WR's getting upset about ball placement, even the announcer on tv said the same thing. Ball placement wasn't what they were flipping out over.

I'm sure there are some in here that have heard the calls for SBC for so long their may be a bias to him, but bottom line the kid is good and just because you have been here longer doesn't mean by any stretch of my or your imagination that the keys should be handed to that particular person. You are the only one who has showed significant bias toward Calvert.

If you don't think the blueprint was set on Saturday your fooling yourselves. I don't think anyone did.

We don't have any elite Wr's PERIOD. That's a bit premature to say that. Not disagreeing, but not agreeing with you.

Teams can man us up and make SM beat us with the pass and accuracy and blitz us until its proven otherwise. Tech was able to sit back in coverage and blanket our WRs because we were constantly in 1st & 15+ situations. As a coach, I am legitimately surprised you haven't acknowledged how much of an impact this makes.

It doesn't have to be an FBS team to make you realize that or at least it shouldn't. So they played man against us, how did the it look for us to be able to scramble and use the legs theory. I think - I could be wrong - but I think Masha was 2/4 when throwing on the run/outside the pocket.

Maybe I just look at the game different than others, but that how I look at it. Its what I do, and have been doing for years. Which makes me so surprised you would bet your child's future on a true Freshman. That genuinely doesn't make sense.
I just don't get the Calvert love affair yet.

I noted that already and I think Spangler posted the link...

Also, I think someone used Texas as an example of a two QB system in an uptempo style...while they have a first year o-coordinator much like we do, he is from the Briles coaching tree and already well versed in the uptempo style of play so its not as big of an adjustment. Until this year, I don't believe we have run that style...we have had elements of it at times but we have not run a full uptempo offense until this year and had a coordinator experienced in that style of play.

My fault, didn't see it.

Just because it has or can work for someone else doesn't mean it should or will for us.

I think we're doing it backwards. Calvert should be the starter and Masha should come in as qb for about two series a game as a Slash guy like the Steelers used to use Kordel Stewart. Masha should also be lined up in as a slot receicer some and even at RB. I prefer Calvert just based on seeing how nthe incredible touch he had on hos throws at the Flamesfanfest.
